A Mexican Almost Stole My Winter Jacket

I sometimes have to work outside of Dickinson, North Dakota.  When I am working out of town, when I get off of work in the evening, I often go to a truck stop/convenience store/restaurant to get something to eat and use my laptop computer to get on the internet.

I bought a spare used laptop computer to take with me when I work out of town, so that it won’t be too much of a loss if it gets broken or stolen, but it is a good computer, worth about $200.  It would be upsetting if it got stolen, and I don’t want this to happen.

When I go to the truck stop that I usually go to, I wave hello to the cashiers who are working, and I go put my laptop computer down on a table in the dining area, take my winter jacket off, and lay it over top of my computer so that no one can see it.  I then go and pick out a drink, sandwich, or salad, and take them to the cashier to pay for them.  My jacket and my computer are not out of my sight for more than thirty seconds at a time, while I am doing this routine.

When I am eating and using my computer, I am vaguely aware of truck drivers, oil field workers, construction workers, farmers, travelers, and local people who are coming and going, paying for fuel, buying things, or sitting down at one of the ten tables in the dining area.

Usually by 8 p.m. or 9 p.m., the truck stop/convenience store/restaurant has slowed down, there are not very many customers, and I feel that it is safe enough for me to close my laptop computer, lay my jacket on top of my computer so that it can’t be seen, and go use the bathroom.  My jacket is just a common, black color, Carhart hooded jacket like most people in North Dakota wear.  Though these Carhart jackets cost $100 to $150, I thought that most North Dakotans would not stoop to stealing someone else’s jacket.

On this past Saturday night at about 9 p.m. I was eating and using my computer, there were two cashiers and one restaurant worker on duty, and only one or two customers in the truck stop.  I felt that it was perfectly safe for me to leave my jacket on top of my closed laptop computer, and walk away for two minutes to go use the bathroom.  When I got out of the bathroom, I walked over to the restaurant counter to see what they had, and I picked up a Philly cheese steak sandwich.

By this time, it seemed like there were several more customers in the truck stop, because I could hear more people walking around the aisles, though I wasn’t paying close attention.  As I was walking over to the cashier to pay for my sandwich, I happened to look back over my shoulder toward where I had been sitting and eating, and I saw a Mexican who was wearing a white T-shirt, walk around the corner, and come to a stop when he saw my winter jacket laying on the table.  There were nine empty tables in the dining area, with nothing else around, and one table with my bottled drink, napkins, fork, and jacket sitting on top of it.

I stood turned slightly sideways as I put my sandwich down on the counter, and I said to the cashier who was the manager on duty, this Mexican guy behind me seems to be taking an interest in my jacket.  Just as I said this, this Mexican leaned past the wall of the dining area, and looked at my jacket again.  The cashier said, oh yeah, I see him.   It was pretty hard not to notice, nothing but empty tables in the dining area, and this Mexican guy wearing a white T-shirt, is so focused and concerned about my jacket laying on top of the table.

I went back to my table and sat down.  I was now curious to see what this Mexican guy did in the store.  Was he going to buy anything to eat, which might have been a possible reason why he came into the empty dining area in the first place.  He must have spent at least eight minutes in the store, walking up and down every aisle several times.  He bought his son an ice cream from where a Mexican lady was working, and I don’t know if she charged him for it or not, he might not have had any money, because he didn’t buy anything else.

This Mexican guy walked out of the store and he got into about a ten to fifteen year old Dodge sedan, and backed out, almost hitting someone in a Jeep Cherokee who was already travelling in the drive lane, causing them to have to stop suddenly.  I asked the cashier/manager if this guy had been in the store before.   The cashier/manager said that yes he had, although he kind of looks like a bad person, he probably isn’t that bad a person.  This Mexican guy did look and act like someone from a ghetto/hood crime neighborhood in Los Angeles or Phoenix.

Some readers might object to what I am writing, so I will explain.  Truck drivers walk into the store at whatever pace or gait they have based on their age or health, pay for fuel, and go use the bathroom.  Travelers usually walk in the store quickly and head straight towards the bathroom.  Farmers usually aren’t in a hurry and have a casual pace.  Local people are like shoppers in a grocery store, they go and pick out the things that they want, like drinks, snacks, or food, and take them up to the cash register.

This Mexican guy, who had been in this store before, came in to the store and acted completely different and out of the ordinary.  He walked quickly over to something like this is what he was there to get, paused, then quickly walked over to something else like this is what he was there to get, paused, then quickly walked over to another area, paused, and he did this throughout the store for at least eight minutes.  You might say well, he was looking for something, or he didn’t like the prices.  At one point, he was at the drink dispensing machine, where they have the cups, lids, straws, napkins, and people fill their drink cups, he was acting like he was going to get a drink, but he didn’t.  It was like he was pretending to shop, but he was actually up to something else.

If you have ever set something down for just a minute and walked away, like a phone, set of keys, wallet, purse, jacket, ice chest, gas can, propane tank, bicycle, or left your car running, and come back to find it gone, I think that this is how this happens, and who does this.

In North Dakota, at a restaurant, bar, store, library, truck stop, laundromat, or any public place, do not set anything down and turn your back on it or walk away.  Not everyone is the same in North Dakota, and you might be unpleasantly surprised at how “diverse”, North Dakota has become.

Some Support And Understanding For Stephanie Peterson Ferri

Last week, a very beautiful 26 year old science teacher maned Stephanie Peterson Ferri in New Smyrna Beach, Florida was arrested for having sex with a 14 year old male student.  I don’t want to vilify or ridicule this young teacher like some news services and viewers seem to be doing.  I would like to try to explain and understand why she might have done this.

Stephanie became married to a firefighter in 2015.  From what I read, it appears that he was on duty at a fire station in DeLand, Florida, 30 miles to the west of New Smyrna Beach, when his wife was having sex with this student at her home, usually between the hours of 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.  Two weeks prior to her arrest, she had filed for divorce from her husband.

As young and attractive as Stephanie is, on any night of the week she could have driven to Daytona Beach, twenty miles to the north of New Smyrna Beach, and met a man at a gym, bar, nightclub, shopping center, the beach, or at an event.  However, here are some reasons why I think that she didn’t do this:

  • It is risky and uncomfortable meeting a stranger for the purpose of having sex.  She would not have known if a strange man would have been physically abusive with her, psychologically abusive with her, whether he had any type of disease such as hepatitis, lyme disease, tuberculosis, herpes, HIV, syphilis, etcetera.
  • She might have only wanted a brief sexual relationship, and feared that some men would have wanted more, to telephone her, to try to show up at her home, to try to show up at the school where she worked, to try to force her to have more contact and involvement with them.
  • She might have believed that any kind of relationship that she had with a man, would have resulted in criticisms, questions, advice, counsel, and demands that she did not want.  Men do tend to be domineering.
  • The sex that she had been having with men was unpleasant to her.  Maybe they always wanted her to do something that she didn’t want to do.  Maybe they never did what she waned them to do.  Maybe the men that she was with were done too quickly, lacked enthusiasm, and had no interest in pleasing her, only in satisfying themselves.

There may be others reasons that I did not include in my list above, why Stephanie did not seek out men who were her own age.  Below are a list of possible reasons why Stephanie had sex with one of her male students who was only 14:

  • Having had him in her class, she might have become comfortable with him and at ease with him.  She might have had no fear that he was physically abusive, psychologically abusive, cruel, insensitive, mocking, or mentally and physically unhealthy in any way.
  • She probably did begin to fantasize about him, in the way that she wanted things to be with him.  To have a romantic relationship with someone who would not be judgmental, critical, questioning, demanding, or manipulative.
  • She might have felt safe, that she could be in charge, she could set the rules, she could tell him how things were going to be, she could decide everything that happened.
  • She might have believed that his enthusiasm, eagerness, and desire to have sex would be greater than with men her own age.  She might have believed that she could teach him how to do things the way she wanted, and that he would be more likely to do what she wanted.

All of the reasons that I just gave up above of why she did not want to have sex with men her own age, and she did want to have sex with one of her 14 year old male students, are logical and normal, in my opinion.  It is too bad that in this time, in this country right now, that this is illegal.

In the United States, in any area of the country prior to 1970, there are a number of different things that could have happened in this situation:

  • If this would have happened at a private boarding school for boys, and the teacher would have been as attractive as Stephanie, the father of the boy would have either been pleased or seen very little harm in it.  The father might have even encouraged this relationship to continue, thinking that this was a very good and fortunate experience for his son to have with a knowledgeable and experienced older woman.  His wife may have had no say in the matter, and been persuaded by her husband’s logic.
  • If this would have happened at a very poor school, such as in Appalachia, the parents might not have seen either good or harm in it, only as something that happens in life.  They might have insisted that their son marry her.
  • If this would have happened at a frontier town in the west, it would have been the same as in Appalachia, the parents might not have seen either good or harm in it, only as something that happens in life.
  • In many average towns across the U.S., if the parents found out about something like this, and the fathers saw how good looking this teacher was, all they would be concerned about was trying to convince this teacher to give them a chance too.
  • The only time anywhere in the U.S. that I think that parents would have been outraged, would be when the father or mother thought that their son was being sidetracked from much better things, such as an academic scholarship, athletic scholarship, a relationship with a much more suitable girl, or being “trapped” by a pregnancy.

I don’t think that this 14 year old boy was harmed from this sexual relationship.  I think that a skateboarding accident or a bicycle accident would probably be more traumatic at this age, meaning, not very traumatic.  There is the chance that the media, police, prosecuting attorney’s office, and psychiatrists could make this a traumatizing, confusing, embarrassing, and regrettable situation for him that will take a long time to get over.

The only thing wrong with what Stephanie did, was put both herself and this young man in the situation where if anyone ever found out, it was going to turn into something very destructive because of other people’s interference.

I wholeheartedly believe, that most men, no matter who they are or whatever their age may be, looking at the photograph of Stephanie wearing her bikini, they would love for the chance to be with her.

One of the reasons why stories like this gain so much attention, everyone has to talk about it, and the woman is vilified, is because people are jealous.  Women are jealous and hateful because the young teacher is so good looking.  Men are jealous because they want to be with a woman like this.  I will admit that I am somewhat confused, and jealous.

Dickinson, North Dakota has a teacher shortage right now.  If the people in Florida want to punish Stephanie, and send her away somewhere, Dickinson would be the perfect place to send her.

What Is Wrong With Companies In Dickinson, North Dakota

In 2017, I wrote five or six blog posts explaining how bad it was working for companies in Dickinson, North Dakota, even the companies, or especially the companies that the Dickinson Press Newspaper could not lavish enough praise on.

Working for two of these highly esteemed companies in Dickinson in 2017, I quit because I was not paid the wages that I was owed, and I had to threaten both of these companies with filing a complaint with the Department of Labor, and taking them to Small Claims Court to get the money that I was owed.  One of the “best” companies in Dickinson, already had four complaints against them with the Department of Labor.

I have written about five times now that, “The companies in Dickinson would rather hire someone who did four years in prison, rather than four years in college”, and that, “The companies in Dickinson hate engineers, disrespect, and mistreat engineers in every way possible because they hate educated people”.

Even though I have a degree in engineering, and I have worked as an engineer, estimator, foreman, inspector, superintendent, project manager, manager, and business owner, with absolutely no criminal record, these are the two supervisors that I worked under who each had Four Felony Convictions, at two different companies in Dickinson:

If you are a person with a college education, and you move to Dickinson, North Dakota, this is who you will be working for, and you will not be treated very well.

Solution To New Teacher Hiring In Dickinson, North Dakota

If you have been reading the Dickinson Press Newspaper for the past month, you would have seen several news stories about a large number of teachers, administrators, principals, and even the school superintendent resigning.  There were at least one or two news stories about the school board members responsible for hiring new teachers, making the announcement that they are going to have to suspend the normal teacher hiring practices and review processes, in order to hire enough teachers for this coming school year.

I have talked to an older friend of mine, whose parents and grandparents were teachers in Dickinson, who is now too old to work in the oil field anymore, if he would like to become a teacher, now might be his chance.  He said no, he didn’t think that he could put up with the disrespect from students that teachers have to endure now, he would probably slap a kid.

Today, to my surprise, I was reading a nation-wide news story, about a beautiful young teacher in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, named Stephanie Peterson Ferri, being arrested for having sex with her 14 year old male student.  Whenever I read the comments that readers leave to these internet news stories, I always see comments that somewhat reflect what I think, “Where were these hot women teachers who had sex with their students when I was in school?”

Growing up, my parents were not too strict, not too conservative, and mostly aware of reality.  If when I was 14 years old, a beautiful young woman teacher was having sex with me, my parents would have wondered what was wrong with her, because I was mostly annoying and irritating.  They would have felt sorry for her.  However, they would have looked at this, as her helping me.  As far as my feelings at the time, this would have been the best thing that ever happened to me in my life.

Rather than going to the police, my parents would have hoped that this would go on for as long as possible, so that I would shut up and grow up.  They probably would have been willing to pay her, a lot.

When I was reading this news story about this 26 year old teacher Stephanie Peterson Ferri, different news services were showing similar stories related to this one, such as the case of 24 year old Debra Jean Beasley who was a teacher in Tampa who had sex with her 14 year old student.

I did some more reading, and here is a list of thirty-seven attractive young women teachers who were arrested for having sex with their male students:

Sarah Fowlkes, Sarah Jones, Alexandria Vera, Hunter Day, Alaina Ferguson, Carrie McCandless, Brianne Altice, Haeli Noelle Wey, Mary Haglin, Virginia Houston Hinckley, Kathryn Ronk, Melody Lippert, Michelle Ghirelli, Tiffany Michelle Geliga, Danielle Watkins, Stacy Schuler, Brittni Colleps, Megan Crafton, Carole Ann Hope, Ashley Anderson, Gabriela Compton, Gail Gagne, Nadia Christine Diaz, Lauren Redfern, Kristin Leone, Kathyrin Murray,  Kacy Wilson, Sheral Smith, Loni Marie Folks, Tara Driscoll, Amy Victoria Beck, Lisa Glide, Amber Jennings, Sandra “Beth” Geisel, Pamela Rogers Turner, Erin McAuliffe, and Laura Ramos.

In the above list of thirty-seven women teachers, I did not include approximately five women who were not very good looking.  It is kind of surprising and noteworthy, that the vast majority of these women teachers were attractive or very good looking.

The ages of the male students involved with these women teachers ranged from 13 years to 18 years.  It seemed that the majority of the students were either 14 years or 17 years of age.  In about half of these cases, it appeared that these women teachers were sentenced to a small amount of days in jail and long probation.  In only about 25% of these cases were these women teachers sentenced to more than one year in prison.

These women teachers have experience, and Dickinson needs many new experienced teachers right now.  Dickinson also needs more attractive women.  There are many apartment vacancies in Dickinson now, especially apartments in the building where I live.  Let’s all give them another chance.

Luke Simons’ And Others’ Proposals To Arm Teachers

I didn’t expect North Dakota Representative Luke Simons’ proposal to arm teachers to get so much news coverage in the newspapers and on television, because he is not the first person or the only person saying this.

Today I watched a television news interview with Luke Simons, and unlike everybody else, Luke is coming out and saying, “In North Dakota, just because this has never happened here, does not mean that it won’t happen here.  In fact, it is probably only a matter of time before this inevitably will happen in North Dakota too.”

If you really want to keep people safe in North Dakota, you have to plan for the worst, take steps, and do everything you can to plan for possible emergencies.

What most people do not know, or have forgotten, is where the idea to “arm teachers” first came about.  For a long time, most states had a legal procedure where an ordinary citizen could request an application for a concealed weapons permit.  The applicant would have to answer questions and provide all of their personal identifying information so that a background check could be completed, usually an FBI nationwide criminal background check, that involved taking fingerprints from all ten fingers.

In addition to a nationwide criminal background check being performed by the FBI, there was usually also a requirement for the concealed weapons permit applicant to receive training from a certified firearms training instructor.  This training would include instruction on guns laws of the state, what you can and can not do, and often included passing a shooting test at a shooting range.

Way before there were school shootings in the United States, there were many ordinary citizens that had concealed weapon permits.  Ordinary people obtained concealed weapon permits in the past, not just because they wanted to protect themselves or others, but because they wanted to legally posses, carry, and transport firearms without the risk of being charged with the crime of “carrying a concealed weapon”.

In other words, many of the concealed weapon permit holders in the past, were military veterans, hunters, recreational shooters, firearms instructors, farmers, or people who grew up with guns, who were not fearful of anything happening to them, or expecting that they would likely have to defend themselves or others, they just wanted to legally posses, carry, and transport their firearms.

In some states, it is legal to openly carry a firearm on your person.  However, in these open carry states, now and in the past, business owners and passersby would sometimes become uncomfortable seeing someone wearing a firearm, and they would telephone the police.  This problem, and other problems arise when someone openly carries a firearm, so most people prefer to carry their firearm concealed.

It was probably in the 1980s, when school districts in different states began to enact specific rules about firearms on school property which affected not only students, but teachers as well.  Ever since school districts and states began to enact rules barring teachers from possessing firearms on school property, even teachers who were licensed concealed weapon permit holders, that some teachers disagreed with these policies, even before there were school shootings.

After the Columbine High School shooting in Colorado in 1999, I don’t think that teachers and school administrators were talking about arming teachers, but some were discussing the merits of allowing teachers who were already concealed weapon permit holders, to posses their firearm while on school property.

After the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007, I don’t think that teachers and school administrators were talking about arming teachers, but some were discussing even more seriously the merits of allowing teachers who were already concealed weapon permit holders, to posses their firearm while on school property, and the deterrent effect that this might have.

I am discussing all of this, because I don’t think that there is a need to “Arm Teachers”.  Just the connotation of this phrase, is very likely going to cause the failure of any proposed legislation to have more individuals who are armed on school property.  If the phrase “Arm Teachers” is continued to be used, I adamantly believe that it is the liberal teachers and the Teachers Union who will cause the failure of any proposed legislation.

Yes, I believe that teachers and administrators who are concealed weapon permit holders should be allowed to posses their firearm on school property, but I think that this idea is going to have to be phrased as “Allowing Teachers To Be Armed”, so that it is perfectly clear to all teachers, that no one is going to make them carry a gun if they don’t want to.

In addition to having more individuals who are armed on school property, by allowing teachers and administrators who are concealed weapon permit holders to posses their firearm on school property, I believe that teachers and admins who volunteer and pass additional firearms training and become qualified, should be designated as “School Resource Officers” and receive additional pay, just to be qualified to respond in the event of an emergency.

I think that many, many teachers would respond favorably to the opportunity to receive additional training with firearms and become qualified, to be designated as a “School Resource Officer”, to be able to receive additional pay, and be able to respond in an emergency to protect themselves, their students, and other teachers.

Toyota Service Department Has The Best Looking Women

I believe very strongly in taking Fords to the Ford dealer, Dodges to the Dodge dealer, and Toyotas to the Toyota dealer for service or repairs.  The Ford mechanics have worked on hundreds of F150s, and the Dodge mechanics have worked on hundreds of Ram 1500s, they work on them every single day.  Whatever you have wrong with an F150 or Ram 1500, the Ford and Dodge mechanics have already performed that repair on these trucks dozens of times.

I have sat in the waiting area of Ford and Dodge dealer service departments all over the United States, waiting on my F150 or Ram 1500, but once you have to take a vehicle to a Toyota or Honda dealer service department, this is an entirely different experience.

In my entire life, I think that one time in Tampa, I was waiting in a Ford dealer service department and there was an attractive woman waiting for her vehicle.  I have only owned Toyotas since 2014, and every time that I go to the Toyota dealer service department, there are attractive women waiting for their vehicles.

In Dickinson, North Dakota, there is a shortage of women, and a scarcity of attractive women, but not in the Toyota Honda dealer service department.  In the Toyota Honda dealer service department in Dickinson, they have two very nice looking young ladies who work there, who act normal, which is way out of the ordinary for Dickinson, but this blog post isn’t even about them.

Partly because the Dan Porter Toyota Honda dealer in Dickinson has white tile floors, nice furniture, glass walls like an atrium, a men’s and a women’s bathroom, a variety of magazines to read, and calm, quiet, well-mannered employees, women don’t mind sitting and waiting for their vehicles.

Nice looking older women sit with good posture, reading the book that they brought with them.  Cute college student girls, can’t sit still in their chairs for long, and play with their phones.  I try to be on my best behavior, so that I don’t get kicked out, but it is difficult.

This time and the last time, a very good looking young lady wearing tight yoga pants came and sat next to me while I was waiting for my Toyota to get an oil change.  I wanted to look at her so bad, but I knew that she would catch me, and get mad.  I kept telling myself over and over again, “Do Not Look, Do Not Look, Do Not Look…..”, but eventually I would look.

I was telling myself, “You are going to get kicked out, and they are going to roll your Toyota out with all of the oil drained out of it and the oil filter off, and tell you to leave.”  I felt that I needed to get up and move to the other seating area before I got kicked out, but I couldn’t, because there was another one just like the one sitting next to me, that went and sat down in the other seating area wearing tight riding pants.  If I went to the sales area, a salesperson would get me.

Even though I wasn’t supposed to be looking, the one seated next to me was not only good looking, she had very large breasts.  She didn’t get mad at me, she fell asleep.

Thank God I didn’t get kicked out of the Toyota Honda dealer in Dickinson, or I would be driving 100 miles to Bismarck.

How I Feel About President Barack Obama

I left my home in Idaho in the Spring of 2011, to come to North Dakota to work in the oil field.  Because there was a shortage of housing during the oil boom, and housing in western North Dakota became more expensive than anywhere else in the United States, I slept in a 1970s camper on the back of my truck at WalMart, at Tiger Truck Stop, and behind the businesses where I worked.

By November-December of 2011, I had hurt my back so bad at work, that I could not walk.  I went back home to Idaho for a few months, and in the Spring of 2012, I went to work in the oil field in Texas.  In the Spring of 2013, I came back to North Dakota.

In the past seven years, I have spent less than a total of six months at my home in Idaho.  I have missed my friends, my girlfriends, friendly attractive healthy women, nice restaurants, working on my cars and motorcycles, working on my house, mowing my lawn, cooking out on my porch, and having pets.

In western North Dakota, there has been a shortage of women, a scarcity of attractive women, mean unfriendly women, no nice restaurants, very difficult housing arrangements, no where to go, very little to do, and unhelpful uncooperative people.

I stayed in North Dakota because I could make more money than in Idaho, and I didn’t know where else to go, or what else to do.  I wanted to make enough money to pay off all of my bills, and then go back home, but I never made enough money to go home.

In 2016, that was the most money that I ever made.  Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, I worked 12 hours each day for one company in Watford City.  Thursday, Friday, Saturday I worked for a second company in Dickinson.  I also did some self-employment work outside of my first and second job.  That year, I believe that I made more money than a police officer, real estate agent, high school teacher, or college professor in Dickinson.

On both of my employer Form W-4 income tax withholding forms, I checked just one withholding allowance for myself, so that the correct amount of income tax would be withheld from my paychecks, so that I would not owe additional money in taxes at the end of the year.  (The more withholding allowances that you claim, the less taxes that are withheld from your paycheck, and you run the risk of owing additional money in taxes at the end of the year.)

For Year 2016, even though I paid a shit-ton of income taxes all year long from what was taken out of my pay checks by my two employers, I still owed an additional $2,000 in income taxes.  How could this be?

For one thing, I could blame $800 of this on President Barrack Obama’s tax penalty for me not having health insurance, the Obamacare penalty.  In 2016, I did not have health insurance, like always.  I paid for one emergency room visit, and three visits to the dentist.  But it is not enough that I pay for my own medical care, I have to pay for other people’s medical care too, in Barack Obama’s opinion.

Barack Obama, a black man from Kenya, who received free scholarships and free living expense money to attend colleges in the United States, and who later became the front man for community organizations in Chicago, and received more free money, of course he is going to figure on working people paying for non-working people’s health care, and create ridiculous welfare legislation that benefits his supporters and constituents.

Regarding my income taxes, if I had worked a 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. job, Monday through Friday, I would have thought, this sucks that I have to pay so much in income taxes.  However, because I had to drive to Watford City to work 48 hours in four days, then drive back to Dickinson to work more hours, and I don’t ever even get to go home and have a normal life, this really, really sucks.

When I see Barack Obama, speaking in his self-assured, cavalier style, I hate him, I can’t even legally say or write what I think about Barack Obama.  Barack Obama’s presidency, his supporters, and his agenda, reminds me of a tenant who moves into an apartment, who doesn’t pay rent, and does damage to the apartment, yet you can’t get him out of the apartment, and it takes months and months to get him legally evicted.  After the fact, you realize that he never intended to pay rent, and that he has no remorse, guilt, shame, or accountability.  I hope that we never do this again.

What Happens When A Vehicle Is “Totaled”

About ten days ago, on the residential 25 mph street where I live, a vehicle drove up over the curb, across a ten foot grass strip, and it took out about 150 feet of chain link fence.  I was upset about this, because this is where I normally park my vehicle, and if it had been parked there, it would have been “totaled”.

I thought that I knew what would have happened with the driver’s insurance company, if he had insurance, but once I started thinking about it some more, I realized that it would have turned out much worse than I thought.

To explain this, I will give an approximate example of what would have happened in my situation.  Let’s say that one year ago I purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee with Quadra Trac from a private owner in Bismarck, for $5,000 cash.  I purposely bought the vehicle because it had Quadra Trac, which is full time 4 wheel drive, it is always in 4 wheel drive.  This is one of the best things to have in North Dakota during the winter when the roads are always wet, icy, and snowy.

I knew at the time that $5,000 was cheap for this particular vehicle, because similar Jeep Grand Cherokees in excellent condition with this many miles sold for $6,000 to $8,000.  I really liked the one that I bought because it was so nice, and everything worked on it.  It had already been to the dealer for service and inspection, and they found nothing wrong with it.  I had driven it for a year, and I loved it, there was nothing wrong with it.

Now, if my Jeep Grand Cherokee would have been parked on the street where it is normally parked, it would have been totaled by the person who crashed into the fence.  The rear hatch back tail gate would have been pushed in, the vehicle frame on both sides of the hatch back would have been bent, and the rear end underneath the vehicle would have been bent and crumpled.

There is no easy way to straighten all of these bends out of the vehicle frame after this type of collision, and it is nearly impossible to get everything completely corrected.  A repair estimate might be $6,000 to $8,000 or more.

The insurance company would likely try to say that my Jeep Grand Cherokee was worth $3,000 at the time of the accident, that they would like to call the vehicle a total loss, give me a check for $3,000 and make me sign over the title to the vehicle so that they could sell it for salvage.

I would argue that I paid $5,000 for my vehicle one year ago, there was nothing wrong with it, everything worked, and that I had put four new tires on it six months ago.  I would try to send the insurance company advertisements for comparable vehicles for sale in North Dakota that were listed for $6,000 to $8,000.  How am I supposed to buy a vehicle comparable to the one I had, for $3,000?

My pleading probably would not have gotten me anywhere with the insurance company, especially because I would have explained that I wanted to keep the vehicle.  Yes, I would have wanted to keep the Jeep Grand Cherokee that I bought, because it had Quadra Trac, and I knew that everything worked on this vehicle, and it was already paid for.  I would have continued to drive it with a collapsed rear end.

The insurance company would have said O.K., if you want to keep this vehicle, we will give you $3,000 for the value of the vehicle, minus the $1,000 we could have gotten for it at salvage, and we will give you a check for $2,000.

I would have felt that somebody ruined my beautiful Jeep Grand Cherokee that was in excellent condition with everything working on it, and all I got was $2,000.  Does that sound like a good outcome, or a fair deal to you?  The way it works, it is almost like somebody else can destroy your parked vehicle, and you are the one who gets punished for it.

Nice Skank Girl Gave Me 14 Chicken Nuggets

Recently I had to drive from Dickinson, North Dakota where I have been living and working for the past five years, back to Idaho where I have a home.  On this website, I complain again and again about there being a shortage of women in western North Dakota.  Because there is a shortage of women in western North Dakota, the women that are here do not care very much about their appearance, and they are mean and unfriendly.

When I get to leave Dickinson, I look forward to experiencing a different environment, and being around people that are normal, like people in other parts of the United States.  At one of my first stops in Montana, I met a very nice skank girl.

I like nice skank girls.  I have written about them before on this website.  This is what they are like:

Skank girls grow up being disadvantaged and underprivileged.  They are born into a life where one or both parents have a drug or alcohol addiction, one or both parents are absent from the home, one or both parents are in prison, or one or both parents are killed in an accident.

Unlike other girls, they are not enrolled in girl scouts, dance classes, or piano lessons, because there is no money for that, and there is no one to take them.  In high school they will not be a cheerleader, on the homecoming court, play sports, or be in band.  They grow up seeing the lives of other people, and observing how other people behave and what other people do.

In high school, skank girls sometimes blossom into beautiful young ladies, but since they are from poor or disreputable families, they are not acknowledged or paid attention to.

All of these adverse conditions and circumstances that skank girls grow up under, often makes them very introspective, intelligent, perceptive, emotionally deep and strong, self-reliant, stoic, and non-complaining.  They do not have high expectations in life, they seek simple pleasures and comfort, and they appreciate when anyone does something nice for them.

Continuing with my story, I stopped in a McDonalds in a small town in Montana.  Behind the counter was a young attractive skank girl, about 19 to 23 years of age.  She was 5’-5”, 110 lbs, with medium length black hair, and pale white unblemished skin, except for one tattoo that was showing.

She was wearing what I believe were thin wool black riding pants.  Not spandex, not leggings, riding pants.  I thought, here we go, look at this, this is something different, I have never seen any woman in North Dakota wearing riding pants.

I couldn’t think of anything appropriate to say, to express my interest in her, or that I wanted to be with her.  Though I said nothing to her about this, I didn’t have to, because skank girls are very perceptive.  I ordered a ten piece chicken McNugget meal, and I walked away with my drink cup.

I went and I sat down with my laptop computer at a table not far from the counter.  Rather than yell at me to come get my order, this nice young attractive skank girl carried it out to me, which was very nice of her, because I got to see better what she looked like, which she knew I wanted to.  I now noticed that she was wearing knee high winter boots with her black tight wool riding pants, which was very nice looking on her, because she was so thin.

I opened my ten piece chicken McNugget box, and “Wow, my God!, there has got to be way more than ten  McNuggets in here!  1, 2, 3…..9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14.  Fourteen chicken McNuggets!”  No one has ever given me 14 chicken McNuggets before.

See!, see!, the instant that I get out of western North Dakota, it is like a whole new World!  It is like getting out of prison!

Note:  Skank girls are not white trash.  To learn more about a skank girl, you might read the book “The Southerners” by Edna Lee.

Almost Getting Caught By The Montana Highway Patrol Again

In March of 2017, I drove from Dickinson, North Dakota back to my home in Idaho, towing a car trailer.  There was a very bad snow storm on the way there.  The roads were in better condition on the drive back to North Dakota, but there was still ice and snow on the road in some areas.

In order to not have an accident or problems, I drove 60-65 mph on the interstate, where the posted speed limit was 65 mph for tractor trucks, and 75 mph for other vehicles.  The car trailer that I was towing was empty on the drive back to Dickinson, North Dakota, but I still drove at 60-65 mph.

When I was on the return drive through western Montana, there was a dark color vehicle stopped on the right shoulder of the interstate with no lights on, and no one outside of the vehicle.  Two drivers in front of me changed into the left lane, so I changed into the left lane too.  I did not know if this was a broken down vehicle on the shoulder of the interstate, I could not tell what it was.

Within a few minutes, a Montana Highway Patrol car drove up beside me with its flashing lights on.  I pulled over and stopped.  The Montana Highway Patrol Officer told me that I was speeding, and that I had changed lanes without signalling.

I knew that I was not speeding, I was going well under the speed limit, and I suspected that this Highway Patrol Officer wanted to stop me so that he could try to detect some type of crime or criminal activity.  He questioned me three times about what I was doing and where I was going, in order to try to detect or discover inconsistencies in my story, giving him probable cause to search my vehicle.

When I said to him, “Are you trying to profile me as some drug person from Idaho?” He asked me to come back to his vehicle with him.  He questioned me a couple more times about what I was doing and where I was going.  I went into more and more detail each time, and he got tired of listening to me, and he let me go with a citation for “failure to where a seat belt”.

A few days later, I wrote a blog post titled “Almost Getting Caught By The Montana Highway Patrol With 20 Pounds Of Methamphetamine”.  I was angry that I was stopped and questioned, even though I was not doing anything wrong, and I was actually driving under the speed limit.

Several days ago, in February of 2018, I had to drive from Dickinson, North Dakota back to Idaho for an appointment with a dermatologist.  Again there was a bad snow storm, which left snow and ice on the interstate for several days.  Today, I was driving back to Dickinson on the interstate in western Montana, going 60-65 mph in an area where the speed limit for tractor trucks is 65 mph, and other vehicles 80 mph, when a Montana Highway Patrol Car pulled up behind me and was pacing me.

In order to catch up to me on the interstate, the Montana Highway Patrol Officer had to be travelling at 70-75 mph.  But once he caught up to me, he wanted to stay behind me, even though I was driving 60-65 mph.  This Highway Patrol Officer did not have any interest in several vehicles that passed me in the left lane going quite a bit faster than me, while he was behind me.

The Montana Highway Patrol Officer was probably hoping to find some reason to stop me, such as “failure to maintain lane”, “failing to use turn signal to change lanes”, something, anything.  I didn’t like this Montana Highway Patrol Officer staying behind me in the hope that he could stop me for something, when I wasn’t doing anything wrong.

In the next town, Livingston, Montana, I stopped and I telephoned the Montana Highway Patrol Headquarters in Helena, and I spoke to a Sergeant in administration.  I told him that in March of 2017 I had been stopped by the Montana Highway Patrol in this same area when I was driving slightly under the speed limit, and here again today when I was driving slightly under the speed limit, I had a Montana Highway Patrol Officer pull up behind me, ignore other vehicles, and pace me hoping to find a reason to stop me, when I was not doing anything wrong.

I said that I felt that they were profiling me because I was driving an older vehicle, and that the Highway Patrol must think that it would be safe for them to question me because I probably wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.

The Sergeant in administration at the Montana Highway Patrol Headquarters understood that I did not like being stopped and questioned by the Highway Patrol when I was not doing anything wrong or illegal, and that I did not like being followed, checked out, seeking to find some reason to stop me, when I was not doing anything wrong or illegal.

The Highway Patrol in Montana does not want to come out and admit it, but if you fit the description of what they believe a drug person is, this is what will happen to you in western Montana.

Leaving North Dakota To Get Medical Treatment

On about January 25, 2018 I noticed that I had a new mole on my right shoulder.  I was very concerned that this might be a melanoma because it had an irregular shape, color, and surface.

I knew that I should try to get this mole looked at and removed by doctor right away.  A week later I began trying to find a dermatologist in Dickinson, North Dakota where I have lived and worked for the past five years, a town of about 25,000 people.

I found out that there were no dermatologists in Dickinson, but there was a dermatology clinic in Bismarck, the state capitol, 100 miles away.  When I telephoned this clinic, the Mid Dakota Dermatology Clinic, I was told that the soonest available appointment was 6 months away.

Six months wait to see a dermatologist is way too long if you think that you have melanoma, the most fatal form of skin cancer if left untreated.  I tried telephoning other dermatology clinics in Bismarck, but these other clinics had a similarly long wait.

I then telephoned a dermatologist that I had seen eight years ago in Idaho, and his office had appointments available each week in February.  I made an appointment for February 21, in order to be able to plan being away from my job in Dickinson.

I knew that this was more than a 12 hour drive back to Idaho, and more than $300 in fuel for the round trip.  Due to the snow and ice covered roads, it took me 16 hours to get to where I was going in Idaho.

At the dermatologist’s office in Idaho, the check-in patient paperwork took me 4 minutes to complete.  The medical assistant then took me to an examination room and spent about 3 minutes talking to me and photographing my mole.  Then the dermatologist came in.

The dermatologist looked at the mole on my shoulder for less than one minute, he then said that this is either a mole or a squamous cell, neither of these have the ability to spread cancer throughout your body, so if I were you, I would just get this frozen off, and this whole visit will cost you less than $100.

It took this dermatologist less than two minutes to freeze this mole, and then I was done.  It took two minutes to pay the $99 bill using my debit card.

This whole dermatologist office visit from when I arrived there to when I left, took less than 20 minutes.  It was no big deal.

I have had the experience many times in North Dakota, that what are normal ordinary things to do in other states, can hardly be accomplished in North Dakota.  If anyone has ever seen me sometimes characterize North Dakota as being backwards and primitive, this is why.

Re-Evaluating What The Police And The Dickinson Mafia Are Doing

I am now re-considering and re-evaluating what the City of Dickinson Police and the Dickinson Mafia are doing.  Rather than continuing to complain, I may have to acknowledge that some of their practices, are necessary in Dickinson, North Dakota.

I have written several blog posts in the past complaining about the City of Dickinson Police always being so eager to follow everyone and pull them over.  I know that they were stopping people in order to check driver’s licenses and vehicles, to see if anyone had warrants, were driving under the influence, had illegal weapons or drugs, stolen property, or anything else illegal.  But I was sick and tired of being surveilled and stalked by the Police, when I wasn’t doing anything illegal.

On Thursday night of this past week, when a vehicle ran up over the curb, across the grass strip, and through a chain link fence where I usually park my vehicle, for the third time in the past six months, I wished that the Police in Dickinson could round up all the White Trash in Dickinson.

It’s not just that a vehicle crashed over the curb and through a chain link fence in this 25 mph zone for the third time in six months, or that another vehicle crashed into my equipment trailer in this spot, or that one of my vehicles got stolen during this time, or that my neighbors’ vehicles have had property stolen from them, it’s that this is happening all throughout Dickinson.

I don’t know if things were ever this bad in Dickinson before, or if this happened following the second oil boom in 1983, but Dickinson now is just full of White Trash and hoodlums.  I think that 50% of this is poor White Trash from out-of-state, and 50% of this is locally born White Trash.  I do think that poor drug addict people from out-of-state have had a negative effect on poor locally born people, making them much worse.

What I hated was the Dickinson Police following, surveilling, and stalking everyone in Dickinson, but I guess they have to.  Apparently, if the Dickinson Police let up for one minute, the White Trash take this opportunity to crash a vehicle, steal a vehicle, or steal property out of a vehicle, garage, or business.

I had written blog posts in the past complaining about the Dickinson Mafia.  For those of you who don’t know, the Dickinson Mafia are a group of business owners, property owners, and leadership in the City, that have tried to control what goes in Dickinson in the past:  Development, ordinances, hiring, firing, wage rates, promotions, marriage, who succeeds, and who fails.

I felt that it was wrong for a group of prominent and successful men to try to determine and control so much, what happens to other people.  Now, at this time in Dickinson, when I see so many people running amock, the White Trash problem, the misbehavior, theft, and drug problems, I wish that the Dickinson Mafia would get Dickinson back under control.

Here is how the Dickinson Mafia used to work:  If someone got arrested in Dickinson for DUI, illegal drugs, assault, domestic violence, burglary, or theft, within a day or two, they would no longer have a job in Dickinson, nor would they be able to get another job.  Their spouse may also lose their job within a day or two.  Not being able to pay rent within a month or two, they would be evicted, and would be unable to find replacement housing.  They would have no place to work or live in Dickinson.  They would have to leave Dickinson.

I wish that the Dickinson Press newspaper would begin again to publish the names of people in Dickinson who are arrested for DUI, illegal drugs, assault, domestic violence, burglary, and theft, and publish this in the Dickinson Press Police Blotter every week.

The owners and the managers of every business in Dickinson would read the Police Blotter every week, to see if anyone working for them had been arrested.  And if they didn’t read it for themselves, one of their friends, relatives, or customers would telephone them and let them know.  Once these people’s names were made public, the Dickinson Mafia, the public, customers, friends, and relatives would be saying to them, “Why do let criminals work for you?  Why are you helping criminals?”

Back when the Dickinson Mafia was more active and involved, they did not tolerate or allow White Trash in Dickinson.  I would like to see the Dickinson Mafia, the City of Dickinson Police, and everyone else begin to force the White Trash, hoodlums, drug dealers, and drug addicts out of Dickinson.

Appropriate Wife Reaction Riding In Car

In the blog post before my last one titled, “What Is Wrong With This Girl In The Mustang GT?”, I included a video clip of a young woman riding in her husband’s 900 hp Mustang GT.

This video was funny, because the whole point of her husband’s video, the whole point of his entire YouTube channel, is to promote and show off how fast his Mustang is, and his own wife is not impressed.  Instead of viewers being impressed and appreciating his car, they are laughing at him and his car.

Below, I have included a video clip where a professional race car driver takes his wife for a ride in his personal daily driver vehicle on a race track:

There Are White Trash In Dickinson, North Dakota

I have lived in Dickinson, North Dakota for a little over five years now.  Financially, sometimes I have had a shortfall of money, most of the time I was just keeping up with bills, and only a few times did it appear as though I was going to get a little bit ahead.

For the past three years, I have often felt that all I ever do is just pay bills.  Even though I was tired of doing nothing but paying bills, I came to look forward to being able to pay for everything, as if this was a fun and enjoyable thing to do.

Without fail during the past five years, I would unexpectedly have to spend money for visits to a dentist, visits to a doctor, have a vehicle repaired, or have a high income tax bill due to an $800 Obamacare penalty or something.

One more unexpected thing that got me down, was when one of my vehicles was stolen this past summer in Dickinson.  This was partly due to me moving to a poorer neighborhood in downtown Dickinson.  Although my stolen vehicle was found several weeks later, I was missing $2,000 in tools and property from this vehicle.

In this downtown neighborhood in Dickinson, my neighbors had things stolen out of their vehicles and had attempted break-ins into their vehicles this summer, fall, and winter.  There were stoned and high people in this neighborhood, sitting out on their balconies, passed out in the stairwell, resisting arrest with the police, and crashing into things with their vehicles.

Yesterday evening, when I was working out of town, where I normally park my vehicle when I am home, someone crashed into and took out about 150 feet of chain link fence.  This is the third time that this has happened in this neighborhood in the last six months, plus one vehicle that crashed into my equipment trailer.

The street beside where I live, is a straight residential two-lane road where the speed limit is 25 mph.  I don’t see how people manage to get up over the curb, onto a ten foot wide grass strip, and then take out the chain link fence along the canal.  On Thursday evening, someone did this, the chain link fence got attached to their vehicle bumper when they drove through it, they kept going, towing the fence behind them, turning back onto the street, crossing over the street, and onto people’s front yards on the other side of the street.

I am unhappy and upset about this.  Downtown Dickinson is so chock-full of White Trash, that it is a regular thing to have your vehicle stolen, broken into, or crashed into.  I am already upset that I have to drive to Idaho next week to have melanoma mole removed because they can’t do this in North Dakota.   I am not looking forward to the 12 hour drive one way, plus the cost of everything.  I would have been much more upset if the vehicle that I needed to use to get to Idaho in three days was destroyed last night where it is normally parked.

The point that I want to make is this, there are so many White Trash in Dickinson, that you can expect to have your property stolen, your vehicle stolen, your vehicle broken into, your home broken into, your vehicle crashed into, to where any gains that you make in obtaining a good vehicle, paying for vehicle repairs, buying tools or equipment that you need, or furnishing your home will be wiped out by the drug addicts and White Trash in Dickinson, North Dakota.

What Is Wrong With This Girl In The Mustang GT?

Last night, I watched about ten YouTube videos, where guys with very fast cars, took their wives or girlfriends for a ride.

For the 1,000 horsepower twin turbo Lamborghinis and modified Corvettes, that could accelerate from 0 to 100 mph in about 8 seconds, the women were screaming, “Oh my God!, oh my God!, oh my God!…and then they would try to regain their composure, but couldn’t help smiling and laughing.”

For the professional race car drivers with a Porsche or BMW on a race track, the girlfriends or wives were yelling, “Slow down, slow down!  Not so fast!  You said you wouldn’t go fast!  I’m never letting you do this to me again!”

The funniest YouTube video of all, was this guy who had a 900 horsepower Mustang GT, and he took his young red-haired wife for a ride in it.  The whole point of this video, the whole point of all these videos, was to show off these very fast cars, and show how their wives or girlfriends reacted.

But this girl, Laura, did not react, she was not impressed, and now everyone on the internet is just laughing at this video.  Everyone thought, “Man, you are trying to make this video showing how fast your car is, and your own girlfriend is not impressed, this makes your car look slow.”

She did kind of ruin his video, because everyone is more entertained by his girlfriend, who is actually his wife, than his car.  You should read the comments after this video:

I Was Going To Show The 1997 Film “Lolita”, But This Is North Dakota

I was going to show the 1997 film “Lolita” in this blog post, but because this is North Dakota, I realized that I had better not do this.

The reason why I was going to do this, was to make the police in Dickinson, Heidi Heitkamp, and all the complainer women about my blog posts, angry.  I was going to suggest that they arrest the writer of the novel, Vladimir Nabokov, who is dead, the director Adrian Lyne, and the actors Jeremy Irons and Melanie Griffith.

The reason why I am being so bitter and sarcastic about this subject is this:  The novel titled “Lolita” was written by Vladimir Nabokov and published in 1955, it was made into a movie by director Stanley Kubrick which premiered in the U.S. in 1962, this 1962 film was re-released on VHS and DVD, then director Adrian Lyne re-made this movie which premiered in the U.S. in 1997, and this 1997 film is available on DVD, and even on YouTube for free, which is why I was going to copy this from YouTube to this blog post.

However, even though this book and this movie have been available in the U.S. for the past 50 years without censorship, I bet that the police in Dickinson, Heidi Heitkamp, and the women complainers would go absolutely berserk if they read this book or saw this movie.  I honestly believe that the police in Dickinson would try to arrest me if I showed this 1997 “Lolita” movie in a blog post, even though it was shown on the Showtime channel, is available on Amazon.com, and can be seen for free on YouTube.

Since its publication, the novel “Lolita” has become included on many lists of the top 100 novels of the 20th century.  This novel has been adapted to create several plays, two operas, two ballets, and one musical.

The 1962 film “Lolita” received the following nominations for awards:

  • Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay – Vladimir Nabokov
  • British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award for Best Actor – James Mason
  • Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Motion Pictures – Stanley Kubrick
  • Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture Actor – James Mason
  • Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture Actress – Shelley Winters
  • Golden Globe Award Best Motion Picture Director – Stanley Kubrick
  • Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Peter Sellers
  • Venice Film Festival Award for Best Director – Stanley Kubrick

The point that I am trying to make with this blog post, is this, people in the United States and countries throughout the World, have appreciated and contemplated the ideas, scenarios, events, thoughts, emotions, feelings, and subject matter contained in the novel and the movie, yet in North Dakota, this literature or art would be considered to be illegal, forbidden, offensive, and off limits, because people in North Dakota should not be permitted to think or feel beyond the boundaries that other people set for them.

I liked this 1997 film “Lolita”, which I watched for the first time today on YouTube.  One of the reasons why I liked this film, is because like the novel, it truthfully addresses what actually happens in life, situations, scenarios, and feelings, which do occur and happen, even though society is very uncomfortable acknowledging these things.

One of the other things that I liked about the 1997 movie, which reviewers say is the case for the novel, the 1962 movie, and the 1997 movie, is that the readers or viewers end up feeling sorry for and sympathizing with the 45 year old professor, rather than the very young teenage girl that he is infatuated with.  I suppose that the real uniqueness of this story, is that the very young teenage girl is portrayed as the primary instigator, manipulator, and controller of virtually everything that happens.

Rarely, rarely does anyone ever admit, that this is often the way things are.  I found two quotations from other reviewers, who saw things even more harshly than I did:

In 1958, Dorothy Parker described the novel as “the engrossing, anguished story of a man, a man of taste and culture, who can love only little girls” and Lolita as “a dreadful little creature, selfish, hard, vulgar, and foul-tempered”.

In 1959, novelist Robertson Davies excused the narrator entirely, writing that the theme of Lolita is “not the corruption of an innocent child by a cunning adult, but the exploitation of a weak adult by a corrupt child. This is no pretty theme, but it is one with which social workers, magistrates and psychiatrists are familiar.”

Here are the North Dakota laws that I could have been arrested for, if I had posted the movie “Lolita” on my blog website:

North Dakota Code 12.1-27.2-04.1  Possession of certain material prohibited:

person is guilty of a class C felony if, knowing of its character and content, that person knowingly possesses any motion picture, photograph, or other visual representation that includes sexual conduct by a minor.

person is guilty of a class A felony if, knowing the character and content of a performance, that person produces, directs, or promotes any obscene performance which includes sexual conduct by a person who was a minor at the time of the performance.

The movie “Lolita” does include “sexual conduct by a minor”, which is covered by the first North Dakota Code cited up above.  It is not immediately clear whether this sexual conduct in this movie would be considered as “an obscene sexual performance by a minor”, which is covered by the second North Dakota Code cited above.

Important Note:

The way that North Dakota Code 12.1-27.2-04.1 is written, roughly 20% of all the movies that have ever been made, would be illegal to posses in North Dakota.  This would include movies showing the marriage of Mary and Joseph from the Bible, Romeo and Juliet, the Westside Story, Gigi, Little House On The Prairie, The Waltons, Happy Days, Dirty Dancing, Blue Lagoon, Sixteen Candles, Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Cape Fear, Dazed And Confused, Titanic, Manhattan, The World According To Garp, American Beauty, Cruel Intentions, The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo, and thousands more because they “include sexual conduct by a minor”.

How Cold Is It In North Dakota?

After having lived and worked in North Dakota since 2011, this Winter of 2017-2018 feels like the coldest to me.

On January 1, 2018 I had to drive past the town of Hettinger, North Dakota on my way to work in the very early morning, my job site was not far from there.  The National Weather Service reported that at this time, Hettinger was the absolute coldest place on Earth, at -41 degrees Fahrenheit.  Yes, the coldest place on Earth, go look it up, here is one link http://cool987fm.com/a-city-in-north-dakota-reached-the-coldest-temperature-on-earth-for-jan-1-2018/

When I got out of my truck that morning, it did not feel that bad, because it was absolutely still.  However, you could tell that it was very cold.

Through December and January, we keep having these -17 degree Fahrenheit days, with some amount of wind, and it is just miserable.  I don’t want to go to any store, I don’t want to go to the gym, I don’t want to go anywhere, for any reason.  I just sit inside my apartment.

One of the reasons that I don’t want to go anywhere, is because of a lifetime of experience.  I have had to work on a broken down vehicle in the snow, ice, and wind more than several times in the past, and I don’t want to ever have to do this again.

I have one extra vehicle at the apartment where I live, and in order not to take up a parking space in front of the building, I park it on the street.  The rule in the City of Dickinson, is that you can’t leave a vehicle parked on the street for more than 48 hours.  So every two days, I have to start and move my extra vehicle.  When it is above 0 degrees, it starts fine.  When it is below 0 degrees, I have to get my battery jump start box, and connect it to the vehicle battery to start it.

Walking out to my vehicle with thermal underwear on under my pants, a hoodie under my heavy winter jacket, and gloves on, wiping the snow off the windows and hood, trying to start it, opening the hood, picking up the battery jump box, making the battery cable connections, and getting back inside my vehicle, my fingers were too numb to feel the ignition key and hold on to it to turn the ignition.

From experience, like the one that I just described above about jump starting my vehicle, I know that this cold weather in North Dakota can be very, very dangerous.  When you are outside in this weather, it does not take long, just a matter of minutes, before you can begin to have severe pain and numbness in your feet and hands.  Even with gloves on, I began to have pain and numbness in my fingers, to where I could not feel or hold onto a car key.

Some North Dakotans would want to call “bullshit” on this.  Let me tell you about this.  A company that I have worked for in the past in North Dakota, called me at the beginning of February to ask if I could work for them 36 hours per week.  I asked on what days, and I said no that I couldn’t, though I would like to.  I said that a friend of mine, who has also worked for them in the past, needed a job, so I would call him, and try to get him to do it.

This friend of mine, who is older than me and has lived in Dickinson for his entire life, had just had a conversation with me where he was telling me, “It never bothered me to work out in the cold.  I mean, you have to dress for it, but it never bothered me any.”

On his first or second day of work at this job that I told him about, where he had to spend 85% of his time in either the vehicle or a building, and only 15% of the time outside, he called me and talked to me for several minutes about how cold it was, how unbelievably cold it was, how horribly cold it was.

I want to conclude this blog post with a strong warning about some things that you need to do in North Dakota during the Winter.  Everyone needs to dress for what the weather is outside, not what you expect it to be like in the vehicle you are riding in, or the building that you are going to.  You may be involved in a vehicle accident or a vehicle break-down before you arrive at your destination, and may not have a warm or running vehicle to stay in.

Women, teenagers, and children in North Dakota have the bad habit of dressing for where they are going, like a warm building, business, or house, and they are very under-dressed for being outside.  It is exactly the case, that they are expecting someone else to drive by and rescue them, or come and get them if they have an emergency.  This is a bad idea.

If you own a vehicle, I recommend buying a good quality hand-carry battery jump box, one that is rated at least for 800 peak amps, to keep in your vehicle.  These cost about $80, and they often have a built-in air compressor and emergency light.  I have jump started other people’s vehicles and trucks about five times with mine, and about twenty times on my own vehicles and lawn mower.

Probably the most important thing to keep in your vehicle in the winter in North Dakota is a heavy sleeping bag.  If your vehicle does break down in the winter in North Dakota, and you think that you might have to walk more than 1/8 mile in below 0 degree Fahrenheit weather, you should probably try to stay in your vehicle.  Even if you were wearing thermal underwear, a heavy winter jacket, winter shoes, and winter gloves, you would become extremely cold after walking 1/8 of a mile.

A Fair Resolution To A Case Of Prostitution In Dickinson, North Dakota

On November 7th and November 8th of 2017, I wrote three blog posts about “Police Corruption” and “Legal Entrapment” in North Dakota.

I was very, very angry about two specific cases of Legal Entrapment in North Dakota, one in Fargo and one in Dickinson, where police placed a fake advertisement on the internet for a woman offering sex.  When men responded to the fake advertisement in order to arrange to meet the woman, at a later point in time, the police then made up the statement, that the fake woman was under 18 years of age.

Two men were arrested and charged with Patronizing a Minor for Commercial Sex Activity, a Class A felony punishable by 20 years in prison.  Neither of the men who were charged, ever sought to contact an underage woman for sex to begin with, the police made the statement that the woman was under 18, at a later point in time, at which point both men then tried to break off contact.

For the case in Fargo, when it went to trial, the Cass County District Court Judge Susan Bailey, was asked by the defense attorney to allow the jury to consider not just the felony charge, but also the misdemeanor charge, and she allowed the jury to consider both charges.  This resulted in the jury deciding on a verdict of guilty for a misdemeanor charge.  This defendant was very fortunate that both the judge and the jury had a clear understanding of what had happened, and realized that a 20 year prison sentence was not warranted.

For the case in Dickinson which began in September of 2017, it began proceeding towards a felony jury trial, but by the end of January 2018, it was resolved by a plea agreement to a misdemeanor charge.  The defendant was very fortunate that he did not receive the possible maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, which was a possibility.

I am writing this blog post, to again discuss prostitution in Dickinson, North Dakota, and to warn everyone about the police approach to prostitution in Dickinson, North Dakota.  Just because the two defendants in the cases that I described above ended up with misdemeanors, does not mean that this is what anyone else should expect to happen.

The defendant in Dickinson, hired the attorney Robert Bolinske in Bismarck, the state capitol 100 miles to the east of Dickinson.  Robert Bolinske may have been the best possible criminal defense attorney for this type of case in Dickinson, because he has one of the best reputations as a trial lawyer and defense attorney in the state.

An attorney like this, probably charges $250 per hour more or less, so for every 10 hours, that’s $2,500.  To resolve this case after four months by reaching a plea agreement without going to trial, probably cost at least $5,000 in legal fees.  If this case would have gone to trial, the legal fees probably would have been at least $10,000.

I am explaining this as a warning, with the way that the police in Dickinson place fake advertisements for prostitutes, and attempt to create enhanced charges when men try to meet the fake prostitute, you can expect to pay $5,000 to $10,000 to have any hope of not going to prison for 20 years.

Dermatologist Shortage In North Dakota

There is a shortage of Dermatologists in North Dakota.  To get an appointment with a Dermatologist in the state capitol of Bismarck, there is a five to six month wait.

On January 25, 2018 I noticed that I had a new mole on my right shoulder.  This mole was different than the other mole that I have had on my shoulder for the past thirty-two years, because this new mole appeared so suddenly, was dark in color, and it had a rough unhealthy looking surface.

From the television commercials that I have seen, and from reading about skin growths on the internet, I believed that this was very likely a melanoma.  A melanoma can be benign or malignant, meaning noncancerous or cancerous.  You need to have one checked right away, especially if it is dark in color, or has an irregular shape and appearance.

On February 2, I began searching for a Dermatologist in Dickinson, North Dakota and I found that there isn’t one.  This is kind of bad, because Dickinson has a population of about 25,000 people, and it is the largest town in southwest North Dakota.

I found that the nearest Dermatologists were in the state capitol of Bismarck, 100 miles to the east of Dickinson.  In Bismarck, there is the Mid Dakota Clinic of Dermatology with three Dermatologists, and two Nurse Practitioners.  I thought to myself, “Good, this is exactly what I was looking for.”

I telephoned the Mid Dakota Clinic of Dermatology, and I requested an appointment with Mark Ebertz, MD.  I was told, “Mark Ebertz is not accepting any new patients, you can choose to make an appointment with either of the two Nurse Practitioners, or one other MD, but their next available appointment is in August.”

I thought to myself, “February, March, April, May, June, July…that’s six months before I can even see a Dermatologist, and I need to get this melanoma mole looked at and removed right away!”

The administrative person at the Mid Dakota Clinic of Dermatology was not rude in any way, but I was very angry, and I ended the telephone call with her.  I could not believe the absurdity of having a melanoma, and a Dermatology clinic wanting you to wait six months for an appointment.  What kind of skin problem could a person have, that they could figure on waiting for six months to receive any kind of treatment?

I was very, very angry.  I write and write about this, but I don’t think that I ever truly convince people how backwards North Dakota is.  I thought about this for few minutes at the time, before continuing to try to find a Dermatologist in North Dakota.

I still want to give a big Fuck You!, to the Mid Dakota Clinic of Dermatology.  I hope that Dr. Mark Ebertz has some kind of life threatening emergency, where he needs the police, fire department, or paramedics to show up, and they tell him, “We are kind of busy, we aren’t accepting new calls at this time.”  Or anything that he needs done, everyone tells him, we can’t help you for six months.

I went on to telephone Sanford Health.  I telephoned the Sanford Health in Dickinson, and they told me that they did not have a Dermatologist in Dickinson, to call the Sanford Health in Bismarck.  I telephoned the Sanford Health in Bismarck, their Dermatology Clinic, and I was told that the earliest appointment that this particular clinic had was in April, but I could try calling their other Dermatology Clinic.  At the second Sanford Health Dermatology Clinic, the next available appointment was in September.

I called an older relative of mine who had had a skin growth surgically removed from his shoulder, to ask him about it, how much did this cost?  He said to me, “You can’t wait this long, you need to get this taken care of right away, it sounds like you are going to have to go to a different state to have this done.”

I looked up on the internet, a Dermatologist that I had seen in Idaho seven or eight years ago.  This Dermatologist surgically removed a small carcinoma from under my eye for about $140, which required stitches.  This was not a big deal for him, or difficult for him, and he did a very good job, not leaving any scar.

I telephoned his office in Idaho, and he had appointments available each week in February.  I explained that I was working in North Dakota, and I could not get this taken care of in North Dakota.  I explained that it was a twelve to fourteen hour drive one way to get there, I would have to drive there to get this melanoma removed, and then drive right back to North Dakota to return to work on time.

I e-mailed to the Dermatologist in Idaho, three photographs of my melanoma mole.  I followed up with a phone call to the Dermatologist administrator, saying that I didn’t want a biopsy, and that I was not looking for a preliminary visit prior to surgery, that I needed to get this melanoma mole surgically removed, and then drive right back to North Dakota.  The expected cost was $300 to $800, depending on how much they had to cut out.

I am not looking forward to this twelve to fourteen hour drive to Idaho, and the twelve to fourteen hour drive back to Dickinson, North Dakota.  The gasoline cost alone will be $350.  The weather this month has consistently been below 0 degrees Fahrenheit.  I know that the interstates will be snowy and icy the whole way.  If my vehicle breaks down, especially at night, I will be in a very dangerous situation, due to the extreme cold weather.
