I Finally Heard Enough About Single Mothers

This winter in North Dakota I have been staying inside and watching a lot of YouTube videos for entertainment.  Some of my favorite YouTubers are Hammerhand, Terrence Popp, and occasionally Prepper Princess.

Hammerhand tells a few stories from his childhood, but mostly he talks about his current situation battling his ex-wife over child support and child custody.  Terrence Popp tells stories from throughout his life, including his childhood, military career, and divorce from his ex-wife.  Prepper Princess usually ends up talking about her mother, how she was raised, and how she inherited her home which she is now selling for $720K.

I have heard Hammerhand talk about how his mother was single, and how he and his brother grew up poor.  I have heard Terrence Popp talk about how his mother was single, and how he and his sister grew up poor.  And today, Prepper Princess was going on and on about how poor she was growing up with a single mom.

I really had enough of hearing how poor Prepper Princess was growing up, and the context of it, her mother was single and she didn’t make enough money to provide food, clothing, heat, or any recreational activities for her family.

A little from Hammerhand, a little from Terrence Popp, and a lot from Prepper Princess, I get the impression that they feel that they are worthy of some sympathy for how they grew up.  A little from Hammerhand, a little from Terrence Popp, and a lot from Prepper Princess, it’s like they feel that everyone else is responsible for how they grew up, and that their mother is blameless.

A person who was my best friend for about twenty years, Doug, his mother left his father when he was about five years old, and his little brother was three years old.  I listened to Doug re-tell about the landlord coming to collect the rent and they didn’t have it, having nothing to eat but eggs sometimes, not being able to play sports in school because his mother wouldn’t pay for it, and his grandfather coming to live with them in order to help out.

My friend Doug, he had anger and resentment towards his classmates in school, towards other kids in the neighborhood, towards his relatives, anyone who had both a mom and a dad, and a normal life with birthday parties, presents for Christmas, family cook outs, and family vacations.  These other people had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Doug’s mother left her husband, and that she didn’t make enough money to provide hardly anything for Doug and his brother.

In response to Prepper Princess’s YouTube video today, most of the commentors were talking about how poor they were growing up, how they had a single mom, and how they had seven or nine brothers and sisters.  I had enough, I got sick of hearing it, I couldn’t believe it.  Why the fuck did your stupid bitch mother have seven to nine children and she couldn’t support them?  Why the fuck is this everyone else’s fault that you grew up poor and not your mother’s fault?

Prepper Princess and her commentors talking about having only one tomato and one onion in the refrigerator to eat, only having one meal per day that they got in school as free lunch, getting spoiled food from the food bank, being cold and not being able to turn on the heat, the fact that you were miserable and had a fucked up childhood is not heroic, commendable, or admirable, and it was not other people’s fault, it was solely your mother’s fault.

Men Only Barber Shop In Dickinson, North Dakota

When I first came to Dickinson, North Dakota in 2011, I got my hair cut once with “Ted the Barber”, Ted Kostelecky, when he was still charging $5 per haircut.  When I came back to Dickinson in 2013, I began getting my hair cut with “Ted the Barber” again, and then he began charging $8 per haircut.

I noticed that when Ted Kostelecky cut my hair, it seemed like if another customer got him talking, Ted would forget what he was doing, and keep cutting, and cutting, and cutting, even though I had told Ted that I just wanted 1/4″ to 1/2″ cut off the length, just a trim.

In 2015 I began getting my hair cut with Matt Ellerkamp and Paul Ellerkamp at the “Big Sky Barber Shop” on the north side of Dickinson.  Matt and Paul were so fully booked with appointments, that you could just about never get a “walk-in” hair cut, you had to make an appointment.

Matt and Paul at the Big Sky Barber Shop were good barbers, but sometimes I wanted to get a haircut without making plans in advance.  When I went to the “Queen City Barber Shop” in downtown Dickinson, there was never, ever anyone waiting for a haircut, and I kind of learned why.

When Luke Simons opened the “Gentlemen’s Barber Shop” on the north side of Dickinson in 2018, I was wary of getting my hair cut by Luke, because I didn’t know that he had been a barber before.  To my surprise, Luke turned out to be a better barber than Matt Ellerkamp and Paul Ellerkamp who had owned the Big Sky Barber Shop.

Unfortunately for me, beginning in 2019, more, and more, and more women began taking their children to the Gentlemen’s Barber Shop.  In my entire 50 year life, I had never seen so many women and children in a barber shop, as in Luke Simons’ Gentlemen’s Barber Shop.

I can finally put it into words now, what I think many of these women were doing by going to the Gentlemen’s Barber Shop, there is actually a term for it, it’s called “Monkey Branching”.  Monkey Branching is when women who are married or are in a relationship with a man, go in search of a higher or more stable income earner, and attempt to “Monkey Branch” to a new man.

“Gentlemen’s Barber Shop” is a misnomer now, it should be called “Luke Simons’ Family Fun Center”, or “Luke Simons’ Women’s Monkey Branching Shop”.  Again, I have never seen so many women and children in barber shop in my life.

I had tried going to Matt and Paul Ellerkamp’s new barber shop, “De Porres House of Barbering”, but a more fitting name for this would be “The Catholic Shop” or the “The Catholic Club”, and I never even got my hair cut there or will ever go back there.

A couple of months ago, I found a barber shop where there are no women and children, just a man cutting hair, paying attention to what he is doing, and not charging a lot of money.  Too bad I can’t tell anyone, lest it get ruined by some whore trying to drag her kids there.

If there was a strip bar in Dickinson, I could picture some housewives coming there with their children, and giving their kids $1 bills to stuff in the strippers’ thongs, because men liked to go there to get away from their wives and children.

M&H Gas Station Called The Police On Me

A couple of years ago I began working at a large industrial site, out in the middle of nowhere, more than a one hour drive from Dickinson, North Dakota where I live.  Early on I realized that I was spending about $100 per week on gasoline for my vehicle to get to and from work.  $100 per week, times 52 weeks per year, that’s $5,200 per year in gasoline cost.

I talked to the CPA who does my taxes, and a co-worker of mine talked to the CPA who does his taxes, and both of these CPA’s told us that neither our gasoline cost to get to and from work, nor our vehicle mileage was deductable on our Federal Income Tax Return.  This $5,200 gasoline cost per year for my commute to work comes out of my own pocket.

Since May of 2019, I started buying fuel primarily from the M&H Gas Station on Villard Street in Dickinson.  For the past ten months, three to four times each week, I buy fuel at this M&H Gas Station.

Today I did a search of my on-line banking checking account statements to view how much money I have spent at this M&H Gas Station in the past ten months.  I had $2,516 worth of debit card charges at M&H #22, seven pages of bank transactions just for M&H #22.  Because I sometimes pay with cash for gasoline when I go inside the store to buy drinks and snacks, I have spent about $3,000 at this M&H Gas Station in the past ten months.

Yesterday when I got to the job site where I work, I received a call from a Dickinson Police Officer.  He told me that the M&H Gas Station had reported me for driving off without paying for gasoline.  I didn’t understand what was going on, I paid for my gasoline at the pump with my debit card, did the transaction not go through?

The Police Officer said, that the M&H clerk told him that I did not pay with my debit card according to what she saw on the surveillance video.  I said that I would go back and pay the following morning.  The Police Officer said O.K., he would call and let them know.

At first I was kind of confused, and I didn’t understand.  I had said to the Police Officer, “How could I even pump gas without either pre-paying or using my debit card at the pump?”  I looked up my online checking account statement to see if a $21.00 charge for M&H had gone through, it had not.

I called the M&H Gas Station and said that I would come to the store tomorrow morning.  The store clerk said that I could look at the store surveillance video recording tomorrow.

The Police Officer who called me was O.K., he was acting like I just forgot to pay.  The store clerk who turned me in to the Police, “Kristin”?, she was acting like I must have just forgotten to pay.  Most readers would think that this situation was no big deal, but to me it is, and I will explain why.

I didn’t answer my phone the first time around when the Police were calling me, because I thought that it was a waste-of-time telemarketer.  I almost didn’t answer my phone when it later began ringing again.  If the Dickinson Police had been unable to reach me by phone, and instead stopped me on the street or came to my apartment with some kind of arrest warrant, I would have freaked out, protested, resisted arrest, because I would not have understood what the Police were talking about, certainly they must be mistaken.

How could I be charged with driving off from the M&H Gas Station without paying for fuel, I get fuel there three to four times every week for the past ten months, what do you mean I didn’t pay, when didn’t I pay, how could I have gotten gas without paying?

The other reason why this was a big deal to me, is because every year I have to fill out a form/questionnaire and undergo a nation-wide FBI criminal background check of both my name and my fingerprints, in order to continue my employment.  A co-worker of mine failed his background clearance because of a gas-station drive-off, even though there was a deferred prosecution of criminal charges.

To emphasize what I am saying, I would not have understood why I was being charged with a gas station drive-off when I use this gas station three to four times per week, and I didn’t even know the gas pumps would work without pre-paying or using a debit card.  And, being charged with a gas station drive-off would probably cause me to fail my yearly background check and lose my employment.

I paid the $21.00 the following morning at the M&H Gas Station in Dickinson.  I called the regional manager for M&H Gas Stations in North Dakota, “Kevin”.  I explained to Kevin, what had happened.  I explained to Kevin that I have bank records showing that I have spent about $3,000 at this M&H Gas Station in Dickinson in the past year, I go there three to four times every week, why couldn’t they just have waited for me to come in next time?

I also explained that calling the Police on me is possibly going to cause me to fail my yearly background check and lose my employment.  Kevin explained that this was just store policy.  I said O.K., if I spend this money at your store, come to your store three to four times per week, and you are going to call the Police on me for $21.00, then it’s my policy to never use M&H Gas Stations again.

I called the corporate headquarters of M&H Convenience Stores, Miller & Holmes Inc., located in Hudson, Wisconsin.  I talked to a couple of women there, who were both polite and they discussed what happened with me.  Kim Haggerty, who is kind of like a vice-president, was supposed to call me back today, but she did not.

I think that I may have gotten them to consider that if you own a business, and you have a customer that comes to your business three to four times per week, and has spent $3,000 at your business, maybe you shouldn’t call the Police on them if they forget to pay $21.00.

M&H Gas Stations can handle it this way if they want to, but since they called the Police on me, and because of the problems that this could cause me, I will never use an M&H Gas Station ever again.

Are The People In Dickinson Descendants Of Zana The Captured Russian Yeti

When I have described the women in Dickinson, North Dakota, I have written that they are glaring, scowling, sneering, leering, mean, hostile, ham-fisted, cankle-calf, no-neck, line-bakcer, battle-axe, monsters.  I tried to understand why the women here are like this, and it has to do with breeding.

Somehow, the way that the people in Dickinson paired up and mated, over time, this is what happened.  But part of this breeding equation, is that the attractive girls who were born in Dickinson, they escaped from Dickinson as soon as they were able.  Add to this, attractive women from elsewhere will not move to Dickinson.  So the only women in Dickinson available for mating were ugly and mean.

I thought that this situation was strange and unusual, the homesteaders in Dickinson were primarily German and Ukrainian, mostly Ukrainian.  Ukrainian women aren’t ugly.  For example, if you go to the website EscortOfItaly.com, and look at the “Gallery” of women, these are all Russian and Ukrainian women, and they are extraordinarily beautiful http://www.escortofitaly.com/Milan/Gallery .  Why don’t the women in Dickinson look like this?

The more that I thought about it, the more I began to realize that the women in Dickinson act like the Yeti that was captured in Russia in the late 1800s, who later had offspring with human men.  Could it be that the people in Dickinson are the descendants of the captured Russian Yeti named Zana?

Before I give the link to the very good article about the captured Russian Yeti named Zana, I want to give a few excerpts from this article, to point out the similarities with the women in Dickinson:

The Story Of Teal The Calico Crayfish

There once was a young calico crayfish named Teal, who grew up in Dickinson, North Dakota not far from the Heart River that flows through Dickinson.  Teal was a very active and energetic young crayfish, she enjoyed hiking, running, and rock climbing.

Near the end of the North Dakota oil boom, Teal hitched a ride with some hippies to reach Bozeman, Montana.  There are many more rivers near Bozeman: the Gallatin, the Yellowstone, Madison, Jefferson, and Missouri to name a few.

The young crayfishermen in Montana would lower their traps into the river where Teal lived, and she would happily climb in.  When the young crayfishermen would pull their trap closer, they would say, “Damn, durn, and doubledang!  Look at this miserable, skinny crayfish, she’s not even worth the trouble.”  And they would toss her back into the river.

Life went on like this for a while, until one day, an older gentleman spotted Teal poking out from under a rock.  He scooped her up, and said, “My, what have we here?  I think I’ll take you home, and fatten you up, my pinchy pet.”

He took Teal home, and he kept her in his basement.  He brought for her fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat to eat.  He put a treadmill in the basement for Teal to use.  He bought for her some new undies, dresses, earrings, and brownish dark red lipstick which suited her color.  He had Teal wear her hair in either a single braid, or tied up in a tight bun, so that he could admire her long skinny neck.

Soon, Teal put on 5-10 lbs of weight, and had a much fuller, plumper, appetizing, and enjoyable tail.  Teal became much better company, and they lived happily ever after.

My Personal Feelings About Whiting Petroleum Stock Losing 89% Of Its Value

Yesterday evening I learned from MarketWatch.com that in the past twelve months Whiting Petroleum stock lost 89% of its value.  The stock went from about $30 per share down to less than $5 per share in less than a year.

As I describe how I feel about this, and what this means to me, I am going to start out being rational and logical, but then I am going to descend into my hatefulness and desire for revenge.

In Dickinson, North Dakota where I have lived for the past seven years, Whiting Petroleum is one of the largest oil field employers, along with Continental Resources and Marathon Oil.  Back during the North Dakota oil boom from 2007-2015, most people here could not have imagined that Whiting Petroleum would be having financial problems a few years later.

One of the most desirable, sought after jobs by experienced oil field workers, was to be an operator/pumper for Whiting, Continental, or Marathon for several reasons.  Experienced oil field workers knew that the oil boom would eventually be over, and that many oil field jobs would go away, but the oil wells and the oil well pumping units would continue to pump for the next twenty years, and they would require someone to check on them every day.  Also, being an operator/pumper can be nearly a 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. job, with a regular, normal schedule.  It’s not crazy dangerous, or twelve hours per day every day like other jobs in the oil field.

During the North Dakota oil boom, because of the steady, long-term nature of many of the Whiting, Continental, and Marathon jobs, such as operator/pumper, the employees of these companies were able to bring their families to North Dakota and buy a home.  They could almost count on being able to keep their job until retirement in ten, fifteen, or twenty years.

Even though houses that sold for $100,000 prior to the oil boom, suddenly went up to $250,000 due to demand/hype, the Whiting, Continental, and Marathon employees mostly bought houses, brought their families here, and had kind of a normal life, with a steady, regular work schedule, and long-term employment.

Meanwhile, most of the people who came to North Dakota for work during the oil boom, including myself, slept in our vehicles in the WalMart parking lot, the Tiger Truck Stop, Patterson Lake recreation area, under bridges, along the BNSF railroad right-of-way, along ditch banks, and other hiding spots until we got chased away.

There was no homeless shelter in Dickinson.  The trailer parks would not allow travel trailers or RVs that were over ten years old, or truck bed campers like I had.  I had problems finding a place to stay for my first two years in Dickinson, whether it was my truck bed camper, my utility trailer stealth camper, or being a renter in someone else’s home.  There was an extreme shortage of housing, and price-gouging with quadrupled rent.

Some of the worst experiences and worst memories in my entire life were being in Dickinson, North Dakota trying to find a place to stay, and being treated like shit.  I had a nice home that was paid-off back in Idaho, about $10K in the bank, and either a camper on my truck, or my utility trailer that was furnished like a camper, but I was run around in Dickinson and treated like a criminal vagrant, not so much by the Police, as by local people who had housing and new homeowners from Whiting, Continental, and Marathon.

When I went to work for oil field service companies in Dickinson, many times I was installing something for Whiting, Continental, or Marathon at one of their well sites.  Only a few times were oil company representatives nasty or shitty with me on a site location.  However, oil company employees were shitty to me in and around town.

When the oil company employees got off work at about 5:00 p.m., they got in their new company truck, drove back to their house, looked inside their refrigerator, maybe ate dinner at a dinner table with their family, took a shower, and watched television.

Me, I had to drive each of my no-license, drug addict co-workers back to where they lived, return the company truck to the company yard, clean out the trash, get in my truck and drive to the Tiger Truck Stop to sign up on the waiting list, to wait for an hour to take a shower for $8.  Then go back to my truck bed camper that was resting on saw-horses, where the heater was able to keep it at about 50 degrees F inside, if the 15 amp breaker that I shared with someone else wasn’t tripped.

So getting back to Whiting Petroleum, I previously wrote about the announcement that 1/3 of Whiting Petroleum workers were getting laid off from Whiting back in August of 2019.  I was surprised to learn this, because these operator/pumper type jobs were supposed to be long-term, the kind of job that an employee could expect to keep until they retired, the kind of job that would allow you to bring your family to Dickinson and buy a house.

Today, when I read that Whiting Petroleum stock had lost 89% of its value in the past twelve months, that the stock price had fallen from about $30 per share down to as low as $1.81 per share during today’s trading, I knew that this would impact many North Dakotans severely, whether they were employees, former employees, retirees, or investors.

To put this into perspective, if an employee, retiree, or investor owned 10,000 shares of Whiting Petroleum stock, twelve months ago this would have been worth $300,000.  This would be a pretty good nest-egg, retirement fund, or asset.  Picture today, during today’s trading, these same 10,000 shares got down to as low as $18,000.

So, how do I honestly feel about this?  Well, these Whiting Petroleum stocks could go back up in value, some, eventually.  Maybe a larger, wealthier oil company could buy out Whiting Petroleum.  Maybe now is the time to buy a bunch of Whiting Petroleum stock while the price is low.  On the other hand, Whiting Petroleum could go bankrupt.

But part of me feels like, “Ha, ha you motherfuckers, you lose.”  Not only are you Whiting people going to lose your job, or have already lost your job, you lost all of your money in Whiting stocks, and now that you can’t pay for your $250,000 house that you still owe $200,000 on, nobody in Dickinson will pay more than $100,000 for it.  You probably bought a new $70,000 F250 pickup truck too didn’t you.

Yes, I relish the fact that while I was struggling, suffering, and getting treated like shit, all of the people with comfortable jobs and comfortable homes, the security of long-term employment, and smug with their profitable investments, will now have to experience and go through what I went through, maybe even worse.

During the oil boom in North Dakota, most of the people who came here for work could not find or afford normal housing, they especially could not find or afford housing that would allow them to bring the rest of their families here, and have a normal kind of life.

The local Dickinson residents who already had housing, and the oil company employees who had the steady long-term jobs that allowed them to buy a house, they ridiculed, mocked, and disparaged the workers who didn’t have any place to live.  The consensus in Dickinson amongst the people who had homes, was that these people who came here who weren’t home buyers, were vagrants and white trash who should be run out of town.

Now that Whiting Petroleum stock has lost 89% of its value, 1/3 of Whiting Petroleum workers have been laid-off, more Whiting Petroleum employees will probably be laid-off, and many employees, former employees, retirees, and investors have lost so much money in Whiting Petroleum stock, I am happy to see that these people who mocked and looked down on others, will lose their homes, lose their new vehicles, and their families will have to separate, just like the people they had once made fun of and ridiculed.

I Didn’t Know That Whiting Petroleum Stock Dropped 89% In The Past 12 Months

Because there is very little to do in Dickinson, North Dakota, one of the things that I do regularly for entertainment is read the local, U.S., and World news.  You would think that since I spend so much time reading the news, that I would be well-informed, but I’m not.

For my local news, the news affecting Dickinson, I read the Dickinson Press Newspaper online several times a day.  I count on the Dickinson Press to let me know about important news concerning Dickinson, particularly what is happening in the oil field, because this affects me and everyone else in Dickinson.

Recently, when I chose to read the World and U.S. news articles selected for sharing by Google, I found some very important information that I never, ever got from the Dickinson Press Newspaper, any other newspaper in North Dakota, or any television station in North Dakota.  For example, the existence of the Haynes and Boone Oil Industry Reports giving complete up-to-date listings of all the U.S. oil companies and oil field service companies that had filed for bankruptcy.

After quickly looking through the free, online Haynes and Boone Oil Industry Reports, I was able to quickly see which oil companies and oil field service companies operating in North Dakota had filed for bankruptcy.  I didn’t know that Key Energy, Weatherford, and Nuvera had filed for bankruptcy, no one told me.  Does anyone else in Dickinson know?  This is something that the people in Dickinson would need to know, but I never saw it on the television news or read it in any newspaper in North Dakota.

Today, I was looking at the U.S. news articles that Google was sharing, and I saw one titled “Here’s Why Whiting Petroleum’s Stock Plummeted Toward A Record Low”, published by MarketWatch.com on February 12.  If that headline isn’t startling enough, you should see the content of the article.

I will include a link to the full article below, but here are some of the main points of the article from MarketWatch.com:

“Shares of Whiting Petroleum Corp. plunged in volatile trading toward a record low, after a Debtwire report that the oil-and-gas company had engaged with advisers in an effort to find ways to refinance the large amount of debt coming due over the next year.

The stock WLL, -22.37%  lost over half its value (down 51.2%) to an all-time intraday low of $1.81, before paring gains to be down 22% in active afternoon trading. Trading volume was 48 million shares, compared with the full-day average of about 10.2 million shares.

In a sign of how rapid the decline and bounce was, the stock was halted for volatility three times on the way down, and twice on the way up.”

Whiting Petroleum, along with Continental Resources and Marathon Oil, is one of the largest oil field employers in Dickinson and western North Dakota.  This kind of information should probably be headline news in the Dickinson Press Newspaper, but I haven’t seen it.  Maybe the Dickinson Press Newspaper is trying to stay away from this kind of news, because it would cause panic in Dickinson.

For many people in Dickinson, including Whiting Petroleum employees, they may have had a great deal of money in Whiting Petroleum stocks.  Imagine owning 10,000 shares of Whiting Petroleum stock valued at $300,000 less than a year ago, and during trading today this same 10,000 shares of stock sank to as low as $18,000.

I am going to schedule this blog post to be published Thursday morning, but later Thursday or perhaps Friday, I am going to write about my personal feelings concerning this calamity.

North Dakota Ranks As 48th Worst State For Finding A Mate

When I first came to North Dakota in the Spring of 2011, the first things that I noticed were the miles of prairie, lack of trees, lack of women, and scarcity of attractive women.  In a way, the local people in Dickinson were aware that there was a shortage of women, and a scarcity of attractive women, because they came up with the joke themselves, “There’s a beautiful woman behind every tree.”……. Again, remember, there are no trees.

During the oil boom in North Dakota from 2007-2015, the ratio of men to women in western North Dakota towns ranged from 3:1 to as high as 20:1.  Now that the oil boom is over, the ratio of men to women in Dickinson is still about 3:1.  After having lived in Dickinson for a little over seven years, I am getting the impression that this 3:1 ratio has existed since the homesteaders came to this area in the 1890s.

If they can help it, women don’t want to come to this area of vacant, barren, desolate, cold, windy, bleak, undeveloped prairie.  Because there are no trees here, the first settlers had to build their houses out of stacked grass sod, and they had to burn animal dung for heating and cooking.  Many North Dakotans stayed very poor, living in tiny houses with no indoor plumbing up until the 1970s.

To this day, most of the women who are born in western North Dakota, if they are attractive, they plan on escaping as soon as possible.  They experience the harsh, deadly cold, the isolation, the nothingness, the ugliness, the ignorance, and they want to get out of here as soon as possible.

When you combine the fact that most adult women do not want to come to western North Dakota, and most of the attractive women who are born in western North Dakota try to get out of here as soon as possible, this is what creates the 3:1 male to female ratio.

The women who are left here in western North Dakota, are mean, snarling, sneering, scowling, no-neck, ham-fisted, cankle-calf, line-backer, battle-axe women, some of them even have tusks.  There is some evidence that the forebears of the people who settled Dickinson were offspring of the female Yeti named Zana that was captured in Russia in the late 1800s.  Here is the link to a very good article about Zana, who is remarkably similar to the women in Dickinson http://www.bigfootencounters.com/articles/zana.htm

My Approach To Telling People About Dickinson And The Oil Field

Of all the people who write about Dickinson, North Dakota and all the websites that provide information about Dickinson, what I write is probably the most negative.  Why I come across as so negative, is because I want to tell the truth that is not being reported, and I don’t want people to get into trouble.

What the people in Dickinson don’t know, understand, or care about, and what other websites don’t care about, is that most of the people who are considering coming to North Dakota and working in the oil field, are poor, broke, down-on-their-luck people who are not doing very well in life where they are currently living.

Most people would prefer to stay where their family and friends are, where they grew up, surrounded by the people and places that they know.  When people’s lives become too difficult or impossible to continue on as they are, that’s when people make the decision to try to move someplace else.  In other words, when people’s lives are good, they don’t decide to get up and move to someplace that they have never been and know nothing about.

I think that it is cruel, inhumane, immoral, and unethical to lure people to Dickinson, North Dakota with false, misleading information and a misrepresentation about what working in the oil field is like.  This luring people here is done to keep real estate prices high, to sell real estate, to rent properties, to bring in customers for businesses, and to have a big enough labor pool to keep wages low.

The people who think that they want to come here, the people whose lives are not going very well where they are, here are some reasons for this:  Economic crash in the community where they live, unable to earn enough money in the community where they live, unable to get a job, low education level, no job skills, criminal record, mental illness, health problems, behavior problems, addiction, low intelligence, or a combination several of these factors.

These people need help, not being tricked, not being taken advantage of.  I am not saying that I like these people, I don’t like them.  But it is cruel, inhumane, unethical, and immoral to lure, trick, mislead, and take advantage of these people.

So, here are some of the things that I need to warn these people about Dickinson:

  • The real estate prices and rents here are still high.
  • The real estate prices here are artificially high, buying a home here now you will experience your home losing its value and possibly being unable to sell it.
  • There is no homeless shelter.
  • If you do not have work experience in the oil field, or a skilled trade such as welder, mechanic, electrician, Class A CDL, or construction, you will likely not get a high paying job, or have an easy time finding employment.
  • If you have little or no work experience, no job skills, or a criminal record, you may only be able to find low-paid employment in service industries such as fast food.
  • If you are mentally ill, have health problems, behavior problems, or are an addict, you may not be able to find any employment at all.
  • The Police in Dickinson try as hard as they can to stop motorists for any reason they can, in order to write enough tickets to cause people to lose their driver’s license and subsequently be arrested repeatedly.
  • You can not go out to bars or restaurants and have even a few alcohol drinks because you will by stopped by the Police for DUI and have your license suspended.
  • There is very little to do and nowhere to go in Dickinson.  You will be stopped by the Police on your way home from Walmart.
  • The ratio of men to women is 3:1.  There are very few attractive women in Dickinson.  There are no strip bars in Dickinson.
  • Prostitution is not allowed in Dickinson.  If you respond to a fake advertisement for a prostitute in Dickinson placed by the Police, the Police will later make up the fact that the fake prostitute was under 18, so that you can be sentenced to 20 years in prison for commercial sex trafficking a minor.
  • If you take your vehicle to a car dealer in Dickinson, the dealership may “go to town” on trying to perform costly repairs that aren’t needed.
  • The local people in Dickinson will treat you like a migrant worker because you are not from Dickinson.
  • The local people in Dickinson will try to undermine you and sabotage you at work, by not giving you information that you need, not cooperating, giving you misinformation, blaming you for their mistakes, and mis-reporting on your work performance.
  • There is a lack of competent, professional medical care in Dickinson.  Watch out, they will put you on the $40,000 bankruptcy helicopter ride to Bismarck from the Dickinson hospital when they don’t have adequate medical staff.

Warnings to people about working in the oil field in North Dakota:

  • Contrary to the rumors, most oil field jobs do not pay anywhere near $100K per year.
  • The oil field jobs that do pay close to $100K per year, this pay is achieved by working more than 80 hours per week, for weeks at time, at hard physical work with no rest.  Most people are not mentally and physically strong enough to work hard labor for twelve hours per day, every day, for weeks straight, outside in below freezing weather.
  • The very few entry-level job openings to work directly on a drill rig, (less than 0.5% of oil field job openings, 1 in 200), these job openings will go to young, very healthy, strong men aged 19-28 who show signs of being able to handle the mental and physical stress.  Most people are excluded, because they can not perform this job.
  • The large international oil companies and international oil field service companies, such as Marathon, Haliburton, BJ/Baker Hughes, and Schlumberger seek to hire people with no criminal record, reputable prior oil field work experience, prior military service, or an engineering degree.  They are careful, selective, and they don’t just hire walk-ins off the street.
  • For people who have prior work experience in construction, as a mechanic, welder, electrician, equipment operator, CDL truck driver, who are able-bodied and show an eagerness to work, they can usually find employment with a smaller local or regional oil field service company.
  • The smaller local or regional oil field service companies may seem incompetent, ignorant, mismanaged, inefficient, backwards, dangerous, and unsafe with the wrong people, unqualified people, uneducated people, alcoholics and drug addicts in positions that they shouldn’t be in….welcome to the oil field and North Dakota!
  • Working in the oil field, you may find that you are being endangered at work by unsafe equipment, procedures, and people, people who have got something mentally wrong with them and are under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
  • Working in the oil field, you will have to watch out for co-workers intentionally trying to get you hurt, cause an accident, or interfere with your work.  Work interference can include the removal of tools and parts necessary for a job, or sabotage of equipment needed for a job.
  • For those people with very little job experience doing anything, starting out at a construction company and working various construction labor tasks for a year would be enough work experience to gain employment at a small local or regional oil field service company:  Relevant construction tasks such as carrying material, loading material and equipment on trailers, tying down material and equipment, hooking up trailers to trucks, driving trucks with trailers, using hand tools, using power tools, digging trenches, using job site equipment, operating heavy equipment, measuring and performing layout, erecting forms and scaffolds, assembly and installation.
  • For people with health problems, mental illness, or behavior problems, you might not ever be employable in the oil field.

Haynes And Boone, The Most Insightful Oil Industry Report I Have Seen

When I first came to work in North Dakota in 2011 during the oil boom, I did not know very much about the oil industry.  I just never really cared to know, I had never had the need to know.

During my first days after arriving in North Dakota, it was so busy here, that every company I visited in Williston offered me a job, if I could find a place to live.  About every other company that I stopped at in Dickinson offered me a job.

I accepted a job at a small oil field service company in Dickinson, partly because the manager offered to let me stay in my truck camper in the company yard, and there was a shower in the office that I could use.  (At this time, small old studio apartments rented for $1,500 per month in Dickinson, if you could even find one available.)

The oil field service company in Dickinson that I went to work for, they serviced, repaired, and installed oil well pump jacks.  From my previous years of experience working as a superintendent and project manager for the erection of communication towers and construction of communication sites, I had operated crane trucks, backhoes, bobcats, excavators, and used surveying equipment to measure and layout the placement of towers and equipment on site.

Very quickly, I became a little frustrated working at the oil field service company in Dickinson, because my local Dickinson co-workers were not sharing information.  During the installation of oil well pump jacks, I would have liked to have known, where they were getting the measurements for the placement of the concrete pad, and the pump jack, relative to the well head.  I would also like to have known, the measurements for the clamping of the horse head bridle to the pump rod.

Over the past eight years of working in the oil field in North Dakota and Texas, I have experienced that people working in the oil industry don’t share information readily.  I have discovered that there are very few people in the oil industry who have vast encompassing knowledge, the majority of even the experienced oil field workers have knowledge that is just limited to the tasks that they personally perform every day.

The tradespeople working in the oil industry are guarded about the particular jobs that they do, they don’t want competition, someone else trying to do what they do, and possibly taking their job.  But it’s that way throughout the entire oil industry, whether its a truck driver, drill rig floor hand, work over rig hand, pumper, automation & controls, engineer, or land man, they have knowledge that is mostly limited to just what they personally do, and they are reluctant to share what they do know.

It is very hard to get accurate, concise, useful information about the oil industry, partly because most of the people working in the industry have just small bits and pieces of knowledge, and what they do have, it is guarded and not shared.

I was very surprised, astonished, when I was reading a news article yesterday about the price of oil, and the article referenced data compiled by a law firm Haynes and Boone.  I couldn’t believe it, Haynes and Boone had compiled complete lists of every oil company and oil field service company in the U.S. that had filed for bankruptcy since 2015.

One of the areas that the law firm Haynes and Boone specializes in, is oil company bankruptcy and restructuring.  In order to identify what is happening in the oil industry at any given time, they compiled complete lists of the oil companies and oil field service companies that had filed for bankruptcy, and how much debt these companies have.

The reason why this information compiled by Haynes and Boone is interesting to me, is because I am so sick and tired of misinformation and propaganda being spread by local Chambers of Commerce, business magazines, and newspapers, that gladly relay the press releases and marketing ploys of the oil companies.

When things are going bad in an industry, often times the companies will make a big effort to make the public believe the exact opposite of what is actually happening, in order to keep company stock prices high, in order to continue to receive investments and operating loans, to put employees at ease, and to keep up the charade for as long as possible when on the verge of collapse.

Another reason why the Haynes and Boone bankruptcy information is interesting to me, is for me to be able to decide what kind of work that I want to do in the future, where do I want to live, and where do I want to buy property.

During the North Dakota oil boom from 2007-2014, there were rumors being spread around the World about everyone making over $100K per year working in the oil field of North Dakota.  This was far from being true, but the rumor persisted.  If workers were being paid $100K per year, how much money could you make by starting an oil company or an oil field service company?

When I looked at the Haynes and Boone bankruptcy lists, I saw some oil field companies on the lists that I had applied to work for in the past, such as Key Energy and Weatherford, but there were other company names that I recognized.  Key Energy and Weatherford had hundreds or thousands of employees, company yards and warehouses, trucks, cranes, and heavy equipment.  They performed a great deal of work in the oil field, but they filed for bankruptcy???  How do I make sense of that?

It turns out that the oil industry really is a boom and bust industry.  People think that they are going to become rich, but bankruptcy is the result instead for many people and businesses.  We think of oil company owners as billionaires and millionaires, but if you look at the bankruptcy lists, many oil companies went out of business, owing creditors hundreds of millions of dollars.

North Dakotans Need To Begin Worrying About The Coronavirus

The “novel coronavirus” which began infecting people in the city of Wuhan China in January of this year, escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a Biological Weapons Laboratory.  No mainstream media in the World is reporting this, but here is most of the documentation on how this happened  https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/did-china-steal-coronavirus-canada-and-weaponize-it .

Though the Chinese government has admitted that the novel coronavirus has now spread to every province in China, the Chinese government is greatly under-reporting the number of people infected and the number of fatalities.  As of this evening, the Chinese government is stating that the number of people infected is roughly 9,000.  This infection number does not make sense, because China has a population of over 1 billion people, and reports from people in China are that all of the hospitals are currently maxed-out on their patient capacity.

The city of Wuhan was quarantined in late January, but the quarantine was announced ahead of time, and hundreds of thousands to millions of Chinese fled the area prior to the quarantine.  The coronavirus has an incubation period of up to two weeks, with the infected person showing no signs of sickness early on with the disease.  Thus, tens of thousands of Chinese were allowed to leave China and travel to other countries, being carriers of the virus without showing signs of sickness, coming into contact with tens of thousands of other travelers from other countries.

At the end of this blog post article, I will include a video from a Phd in Pathology, who made a video yesterday explaining that the fatality rate of a regular flu virus is 0.1%, whereas the the fatality rate of the novel coronavirus appears to be 3%, and requires much more intensive medical care.

My purpose in making this blog post article, is to warn as many people as possible in North Dakota, to start preparing for the coronavirus now, because I predict that there will be a nationwide panic in the U.S. within about seven days from now.

The first element of the panic, that I honestly believe is coming, will be a swarm of people hurrying to the stores all at once to buy food, water, medication, filtration masks, and other supplies.  The fact that everyone will do this all at once, at the same time, is one of the things that will incite hysteria in people.  The trigger will be, the major news networks eventually warning people to stay inside and try not to go out in public.

North Dakota has some risk of the coronavirus infecting local people due to several causes.  The colleges and universities in North Dakota do have some foreign students, out-of-state students, and study abroad students who will be traveling through foreign countries or large airports.  The oil field in North Dakota has many workers who are from out-of-state or foreign countries who will be traveling outside North Dakota.

Once there are outbreaks of the coronavirus in large crowded cities like Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas, Denver, Seattle, Portland, St. Louis, and Minneapolis, the city dwellers will try to flee the cities for uninfected rural areas, and many of these city dwellers will be infected carriers of the coronavirus.

The first thing that North Dakotans can do to prepare before the nationwide panic, is to begin buying extra food, water, medication, pet food, toilet paper, hygiene items, and other supplies to accumulate enough necessities to be able make it through either a voluntary or involuntary quarantine.

Another thing that North Dakotans need to do, is look up reputable legitimate internet websites that advise on preventative measures and treatments for coronavirus infections.  Families may eventually need to make the decision whether to allow their children to attend school, whether the adults should stay home from work, or should the family stay home and not go to church in order to avoid contact with other people.

Do The People In Dickinson Have To Worry About The Coronavirus

Do the people in Dickinson, North Dakota have to worry about the coronavirus?  Yes, they do.

All of the international main stream media news sources are under-reporting and mis-reporting about the coronavirus that currently is most affecting the city of Wuhan in China.  The under-reporting and mis-reporting are in many cases a deliberate attempt to not cause panic and disruption, particularly economic disruption.

There are many facts that are not being reported.  One of the main facts is that this particular coronavirus was isolated and stored in Canada’s National Microbiology Laboratory more than ten years ago.  In this Canadian NML laboratory, two of the highest level medical doctor/scientist researchers were a Chinese husband and wife, Dr. Keding Cheng and Dr. Xiangguo Qiu.  It was discovered a couple of years ago, that without authorization, this Chinese couple had transported the coronavirus to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, part of China’s Biological Warfare Program.  Here is the very lengthy documentation on how this happened https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/did-china-steal-coronavirus-canada-and-weaponize-it

The second and third important facts that are not being reported, are the actual number of people infected in China, and the number of people who have died in China.  Medical Doctor to Medical Doctor communication between the Chinese and the outside world, states that the number of persons infected in the city of Wuhan is over 100,000.

The fourth fact that is not being reported, is that hundreds of thousands of Chinese people successfully fled Wuhan before the quarantine of Wuhan went into effect.  Many Chinese people left China on international airline flights.  The incubation period of the coronavirus before any symptoms are shown is two weeks.  This means that possibly thousands of infected Chinese people dispersed throughout the World.

The coronavirus is airborne, and can live on surfaces for up to five days.  It is spread through contact with the eyes, nose, or mouth.

For the time being, with only five reported cases of the coronavirus in the U.S., the first danger that people in Dickinson, North Dakota will face, is a copycat run on food and supplies in the U.S. that will take place about seven days from now.

My belief is, that within about seven days from now, many people in the U.S. will wake up to the facts that this coronavirus escaped from a Chinese biological warfare laboratory in Wuhan, the number of infected people in China is in the millions, that the coronavirus has made it to the U.S., and that they had better go to the store right now and buy enough food, water, and supplies so that they can stay home and not go out in public if possible.

From the prepper/survivalist internet articles that I am reading, in California several days ago people started stocking up on food, water, and “N95” filtration masks.  In some places in California, Home Depot has sold out of filtration masks, and put up signs saying “limit 10 per customer”.

I had meant to do this several days ago, but I just now got around to buying about a ten day supply of food and water.  I have very little food in my apartment, so this is what I bought at the Family Dollar store in Dickinson for $33:  24 bottles of water, 20 packets Ramen noodles, 4 bowls spicy noodles, 4 packets instant potatoes, 4 tins of spam, 4 tins of Vienna sausage, 4 rolls toilet paper, 1 roll paper towels.  I need to add allergy medication and cat food.

The reason why I bought the food and water listed above, is because I believe that there will be a copycat panic, and a copycat run on food, water, and supplies in Dickinson, within about seven days from now.  I don’t want to be in a panic, I don’t want to be upset and trying to compete with other people at Walmart or Family Fare, frantically trying to grab canned goods from the store shelves as they are emptying.

Update 1/30/20:

The Chinese government has just imposed a penalty of seven years in prison for anyone reporting on the coronavirus contrary to government press releases.  It is difficult now for anyone inside China to speak out or share video of what is happening.  Here is one recent video from January 27, but these videos are becoming scarce:

Is This A Case Of I Dindu Nuffin In Dickinson, North Dakota

A 24 year old Dickinson resident, Chelsey Borden, has filed a complaint against Dickinson Police Officer Chad Hopponen alleging that the officer used excessive force in arresting her on January 18.

I will try to give a brief timeline of events as reported by the Dickinson Press newspaper in their January 23 article  https://www.thedickinsonpress.com/news/4879312-Woman-accuses-Dickinson-officer-of-using-excessive-force-department-to-investigate .

On January 18 at approximately 1 a.m. Chelsey Borden left “Army’s West” sports bar and went to the Holiday gas station and convenience store located approximately two city blocks to the east.

Chelsey waited inside the Holiday convenience store and talked to the cashier while waiting for a friend of hers to arrive.  When her friend arrived, Funmi Ujima, the two of them continued to talk together inside of the store.

Within a short time, another woman walked into the store, who was known to both Chelsey and the friend that Chelsey was talking to.  Chelsey said that she had had problems with this woman before, and that this woman began to argue, act aggressive, and then this woman physically attacked her.

 A physical fight ensued, and Dickinson Police Officer Chad Hopponen arrived while this physical fight was still in progress.

The above timeline is roughly what happened, the bare facts.  For the rest of the story, Chelsey Borden has her version, and Police Officer Chad Hopponen has his version.

Chelsey’s Version:

Chelsey said that the other woman pushed her, took a swing at her, and that she was only trying to defend herself when Police Officer Hopponen arrived.  Chelsey said that Officer Hopponen yelled at her, put his finger in her face, yelled at her to put her fucking hands behind her back, and yelled at her to fucking get down on the floor.

Chelsey’s quote from the Dickinson Press then said at this point, that Chelsey put her hands up, and said, Sir, please calm down, and let me explain what happened.  Then, “Without notice or warning he swiped at my face and aggressively forced me to the ground causing my injuries,” she said. “I was thrown into the back of Officer Hopponen’s police cruiser, and he never asked me what happened or listened to my pleas for him to loosen the cuffs, which left bruises on my wrists to this day.”

Some of Chelsey’s complaints are, the Police Officer used excessive force, she suffered a cut on her cheek, she suffered bruising because the handcuffs were used improperly, and the Police Officer didn’t use the training he was taught for de-escalation.

The Police/Officer Chad Hopponen’s version:

The Dickinson Police stated that they do not want to discuss this arrest prior to the completion of both the criminal case and their internal investigation of Police Officer Chad Hopponen, beyond a few initial statements.  “According to police, Borden was arrested shortly after 1:30 a.m. inside the store for what police say was disorderly and tumultuous behavior. Police say Borden resisted the officer’s attempts to gain compliance and take her into custody.”  “Capt. Joe Cianni, Dickinson Police Department, said that the altercation and subsequent arrest were captured on audio and video footage.”

The Dickinson Press newspaper article covering this incident was fairly well written, it was detailed, and thorough.  I wouldn’t say that it was leaning in either Chelsey Borden’s favor or Police Officer Chad Hopponen’s favor, but this article does not include Police Officer Chad Hopponen’s observations, assessments, or opinions, only Chelsey’s.

In a way, this Dickinson Press newspaper story is one-sided, because Police Officer Chad Hopponen wasn’t able to tell his side of the story.  Many months from now, probably not until the criminal case against Chelsey Borden is concluded, the video and audio, of the altercation and the arrest will be made public.

I am writing about this news story, because I am angry about it.  I want to point out what is not being told.  Someone called the Police that night, it was probably the Holiday convenience store clerk.  Everything was not going along fine, everything was not going O.K., there was an argument and then a physical fight between two people at 1:30 a.m. inside the store.

Whoever called the Dickinson Police Department, they didn’t just say that there was a fight inside the Holiday convenience store, the Police Dispatcher asks the caller to explain who is fighting, give a description, what are they wearing, are there any weapons, what is happening.  I believe that it is likely that the caller told the dispatcher who attacked who, and who was hitting who.

Something else that is not being told, is that there was probably alcohol involved.  It was 1:30 a.m. following a Friday night, Chelsey had just come from a bar, one or more of the parties involved had probably been drinking alcohol.  Stop and think about it, when was the last time that you saw a fist-fight between two women at the Family Dollar or Family Fare grocery store during the day?  This is not normal behavior.

My opinion is that when Officer Hopponen arrived at the Holiday convenience store, the Police Dispatcher had already given a description of the aggressor to the Police Officer, based on the information that was given by the caller.  Or, that based on what Officer Hopponen saw as he approached, he was able to determine who the aggressor appeared to be.

I believe that Officer Hopponen encountered two very angry, combative, aggressive women who were currently engaged in a fist-fight inside the store.  My opinion is, that one or both of the women were probably under the influence of alcohol, were not using normal judgement, and were not complying with Officer Hopponen’s instructions.

In Chelsey’s statements to the Dickinson Press reporter, she said that she was being yelled at by Officer Hopponen to put her fucking hands behind her back, and fucking get down on the floor, but instead of doing what he asked, she stood there with her hands up, saying let me explain.

When Police Officers arrive somewhere to possibly make an arrest, they do not know if the people that they are dealing with have any weapons on their person, such as a knife or a firearm.  They would like to have compliance in handcuffing the person, rather than resistance or refusal, because they do not know if the person is armed or what they will do next.  Failing to comply with the Police Officer’s request, means more to the Police Officer than just a difference of opinion, it poses a threat to the Police Officer.

Chelsey said that Officer Hopponen should have used his de-escalation training.  He wasn’t trying to de-escalate, he was trying to make an arrest, take someone into custody, and transport them to jail.  De-escalation, what does that mean in this case, not being arrested, not being taken to jail, and not having two misdemeanor charges on your record?

Prior to publishing this blog post article, I went to the North Dakota Court Repository internet site, and typed in “Chelsey Borden” for Stark County criminal cases.  There is no record of her arrest, which probably means that the prosecutor or the police have dropped the charges against her.

Once the internal Dickinson Police Department investigation of Officer Chad Hopponen has been completed, the Dickinson Police said that the audio and video of the altercation and the arrest will be released to the public upon request.  I am very interested to see and hear what happened.

What Is Happening To The Stolen Bicycles In Dickinson, North Dakota

Between 8 p.m. Sunday night and 4 a.m. Monday morning, someone cut the chain on my neighbor Matt’s bicycle in his front yard, and stole it.  This is the second bicycle that has been stolen from my neighbor Matt in this past year.

This most recent bicycle that was stolen from Matt was only worth about $100.  However the previous bicycle that was stolen from Matt was worth about $500 to $2,000 because it was a very good condition mountain bike that was a rare, collectible bicycle, that there are very few of in existence.

Six months ago I had my white color Mongoose mountain bicycle stolen where I live in downtown Dickinson.  This bicycle had a 1/2″ diameter steel Master Lock cable going through its frame and tires.  The thieves made an unsuccessful attempt, then came back one week later with a Dremel type cutting disk, and cut through the steel cable.   I say “thieves”, because there were two of them, the theft was recorded by my security camera.

The Mongoose mountain bicycle that was stolen from me was rare.  In the seven years that I owned it, I never ever saw another one like it where I bought it in Texas, or in Idaho, Utah, and North Dakota where I was living.  It had a white frame, with green/black accents, and green/black parts.

My white Mongoose bicycle, and especially Matt’s rare, collectible bicycle, could not be painted without destroying the value.  Even if my stolen bicycle, or Matt’s stolen bicycle were painted, we would still be able to recognize our bicycles.  The point is, whoever stole our bicycles, can’t ride them or try to sell them in Dickinson, and they know it.

Unpainted, at a glance I could recognize my stolen Mongoose bicycle 1/8 mile away on the street, driving by a yard, porch, or open garage.  Matt could recognize his stolen bicycle the same as I could identify mine.  Either one of us spotting our stolen bicycles would result in us stopping the rider, going up to where it was located, talking to whoever had it, and then calling the Police.

It became apparent that these stolen bicycles aren’t being sold or ridden in Dickinson.  I will explain again, that these are not kids doing this.  The thieves recorded by my security camera stealing my bicycle were not kids.  Kids don’t come out at 2:00 a.m. with large bolt cutters and Dremel tools, to cut chains and lock cables.

In any case, even if it were kids who were stealing our bicycles, they are not selling them or riding them in Dickinson.  These stolen bicycles are being stored somewhere, out of sight, in someplace like a backyard with concealment, a basement, garage, utility shed, house, trailer, or van.

There would be no point in stealing these bicycles if the thieves couldn’t sell them or ride them in Dickinson.  The thieves must be taking these stolen bicycles to some place like Bismarck.  Bismarck is the closest large city, 100 miles to the east.

The four hour, 200 mile round trip to Bismarck with stolen bicycles wouldn’t be worth the time and the cost of the trip, unless the thieves had more than several stolen bicycles to sell.  This means that the thieves have to be using either a van or an enclosed utility trailer to make the trip to Bismarck, or wherever they are traveling to sell these stolen bicycles.

Is has occurred to me, and other people have commented to me, that it should not be that difficult for the Police in Dickinson to find out who has a van load or trailer load full of stolen bicycles.  They just have to catch the bicycle thief one time, or a neighbor has to see this happening and report it, or a criminal in custody has to snitch, or an informant has to tell, and then its over for this bicycle theft ring of criminals.

It’s kind of like the Police in Dickinson are allowing this to happen, like this is harmless.  I wonder if the Police in Dickinson aren’t using some kind of logic like, “If we let these people steal small things, and commit small crimes, then they won’t have to commit big crimes like armed robbery.”

I wish that the Police in Dickinson would try to stop all crime, and not have any tolerance for any crime.  But, crime in Dickinson is not entirely the fault of the Police.  The Judges and the Department of Corrections keep letting all the criminals loose on parole/probation instead of jail/prison.

The Withdrawal Of The Dickinson Press Newspaper

On January 13, 2020 I read a Dickinson Press Newspaper article that announced that beginning in March, the newspaper would no longer be published every day of the week, and instead would only be published once per week on Wednesdays.

I was sorry to hear this.  I like reading the Dickinson Press, and there is very little to do in Dickinson, North Dakota.  It seemed as if Dickinson had so little going on, and had become so inconsequential, that it did not really merit having a newspaper anymore, that was my first reaction.

The explanation that the Dickinson Press gave had three main points.  They said that many newspapers across the country were making the decision to transition to becoming an on-line internet news service.  This would supposedly allow the Dickinson Press Newspaper to add important news stories throughout the day, and provide up to the minute news.

The other reason that was mentioned, was that with the Dickinson Press Newspaper only being published one day per week on Wednesdays, the newspaper could be printed in Bismarck, instead of Dickinson.  This would allow the newspaper to no longer employ a staff of experienced print press employees in Dickinson, maintain a printing press in Dickinson, and be able to sell off their large building in Dickinson.

I do not have any animosity towards the owners of the Dickinson Press Newspaper, Forum Communications Company in Fargo.  Ever since Forum Communications purchased the Dickinson Press Newspaper in 1995, many people in Dickinson believed that the Forum Communications Company was prejudiced against the people in Dickinson, because the economy, culture, and politics in Fargo on the far east side of the state are completely different than small, rural, conservative Dickinson on the west side of the state.

It is true that the owners and staff of the Forum Communications Company in Fargo have a very different outlook and beliefs from the people in Dickinson, but I always thought of this as benefit for the newspaper.  The Dickinson Press Newspaper was very “fact finding” and “truth finding” in their news stories, regardless of who in Dickinson would be embarrassed or negatively impacted by the actual truth.

When a news story concerning Dickinson was very, very contentious, the Forum Communications Company would assign the story to one of their other newspapers, such as the Grand Forks Herald, and then carry the story in the Dickinson Press Newspaper, which I thought was an excellent way to handle the situation.

After the initial feeling of shock that the Dickinson Press Newspaper would no longer be published daily, I immediately began to feel a sense of dread that Dickinson would now become even more corrupt, more backward, and more primitive than ever before.

Historically and up to the present day, there have been so many scandals and so many terrible things going on in Dickinson, it seemed that the only thing keeping the Evil from winning was the Dickinson Press Newspaper warning people what was going on, so that the people would know.

I could say that now, I don’t know what is going to happen, but that’s not true, I do know what is going to happen.  All of the bad things that are going on and have been going on in Dickinson, the out-of-control crime, drug dealing, drug use, and drug addiction; the unethical, immoral, and illegal financial scheming; the bullying and mistreatment of city and private employees in Dickinson, is all going to become much, much worse.

In Dickinson, the Mayor, Chief of Police, Chamber of Commerce, the Dickinson Mafia, Business Owners, and Realtors, like to hide what is going on.  They do every thing they can to talk Dickinson up, so that people will continue to come here.

A better way to run Dickinson, would be to illuminate the bad, immoral, unethical, and criminal activity in Dickinson, address it, fix it, stop it.  Then, people would come to Dickinson and stay here, because it was a nice, clean, safe, peaceful, well-run town.

In a way, I kind of feel that Forum Communications is giving up on Dickinson, because it is an exercise in futility.  For instance, one to three times per week, the Dickinson Press Newspaper publishes the “Police Blotter” or “Crime & Courts” articles.  In these articles, week after week, over and over, it is the same people who are getting arrested and appearing in court for possession of drugs, driving on a suspended license, assault, burglary, etcetera.  The same people, again and again, over and over, repeat, repeat, repeat.  Why even bother, can’t the people in Dickinson even read or take a hint?

The Forum Communications assigned a reporter to write a very thorough and detailed five-part series of articles, explaining why there are so many repeat offenders without an end in sight.  It’s because it costs $43,000 per year to put an offender in prison, versus $1,700 per year to place an offender on parole/probation.  North Dakota is not putting or keeping repeat criminals in prison where they belong.

The People, Police, and Judges in Dickinson are still blind to the out-of-control crime in Dickinson, so why even bother writing about it, reporting on it, or explaining it, the people in Dickinson don’t appear to be able to read or understand.  This is one of reasons why it is pointless to have a newspaper in Dickinson, the people don’t appear to be able to read or understand what is written, or they would rather the truth not be told or heard.

The People, Police, And Judges In Dickinson Need To Change Their Attitude About Crime

In 2017 through 2019, many times it seemed like the crime in Dickinson, North Dakota was out of control.  I had never personally experienced very much crime in Dickinson until I moved to downtown Dickinson in the spring of 2017.  Within a couple of months my pickup truck was stolen.

By making flyers with a photograph of my stolen truck, and handing these flyers out all over Dickinson and the neighboring towns, I eventually received some phone calls and leads about who had stolen my truck.  I found out, the person who had stolen my truck, he very recently had been released from prison for vehicle theft, and that there was currently a warrant out for his arrest for possession of stolen property.

I got my truck back about a week after I found out who had it.  In the process of trying to find my truck, I read the complete criminal record of the person who had it, and the criminal records of this person’s friends and associates.  This was my introduction to the fact that Dickinson has a large amount of residents who are repeat, continual, habitual, life-long criminals.

One of the things that I used to try to locate my stolen truck and the person who had it, was Facebook.  I looked at this person’s Facebook posts, the people that he was communicating with, who these people were, and where these people were located.

The Facebook posts and Facebook friends, showed that there were easily more than several hundred drug-user, drug-addict, thieving men and women in Dickinson who were not ashamed, and not intending to stop what they were doing.  Their names were familiar from the weekly Dickinson Press newspaper articles “Crimes & Courts” and “Police Blotter”.

I had always been interested in reading the Dickinson Press newspaper articles on crime in Dickinson, reading the names of the people who were caught, and what they had been arrested for, to see if there was anyone that I knew, or to save their names in my memory in case I met them in the future.  But after seeing all the drug-addicts/criminals on Facebook, seeing that they all loosely knew and associated with each other, reading their criminal records on the ND Court Repository, I learned that not only does Dickinson have a large permanent habitual criminal population, but from reading the Dickinson Press, I now saw that these people are continually arrested again, and again, and again, over and over, with no end in sight.

I wasn’t the only person who saw this.  The parent company of the Dickinson Press newspaper, Forum Communications, their owners, editors, staff, and reporters noticed this too.  In August of 2019, Forum Communications, through each of its newspapers published five articles on crime, courts, prisons, parole, and probation written by reporter Sam Easter.  Here is the link to the gateway article: https://www.thedickinsonpress.com/news/crime-and-courts/4046635-Too-big-too-fast-North-Dakota’s-other-housing-problem

The reporter Sam Easter was so thorough and detailed in his newspaper articles, that I think many North Dakotans lost one of the main, most important observations and conclusions:  There are so many habitual, repeat, life-long criminal offenders in North Dakota because they are not being sent to prison, or being kept in prison, because it costs $43,000 per year to keep them in prison, and only $1,700 per year to keep them on parole/probation.

For some of the families in the Dickinson area, a life of crime is just a lifestyle choice.  To them, a little bit of marijuana, a little bit of methamphetamine, a little bit of heroin, some drug dealing, some stealing, some robbery, some check fraud, some assault, fleeing & eluding, probation, and violation of probation, make for a good way of life, that they pass on to their children.

When will you learn, to just put each of these fuckers in prison for ten, fifteen, twenty years, and just leave them there for their entire sentence?  You think that it costs $43,000 per year to keep them in prison, how much does it end up costing when they are not in prison and breeding five to ten children who will be exactly like them?  How much does it end up costing when they are not in prison and introduce 50 to 100 people to meth or heroin and get them addicted?

The People, the Police, and the Judges in Dickinson are too tolerant and lenient on crime.  In the past in Dickinson, there probably were individuals who might have committed a crime only out of desperation, impulsiveness of youth, or drunkenness.  Their criminal behavior might have been corrected by a short time in jail and probation.  But this is generally not the case in Dickinson anymore, the people who are being arrested, have been arrested again, and again, and again with no indication that they are going to stop what they are doing.

The policy or practice of no jail time, suspended jail time, short jail time, and probation is sending a message to the hundreds of habitual repeat criminals in Dickinson that they have nothing to fear, they can keep right on doing what they have been doing.

The Thieving Continues In Downtown Dickinson, North Dakota

At this point, I have written approximately fifteen blog posts about the crime, drug use, drug dealing, theft, and vandalism in downtown Dickinson, North Dakota where I live.

I have covered what got stolen from me, how it got stolen, what got stolen from others, the security cameras I installed, videos from my security cameras, calling the Police, how the Police responded, who got caught, the “Drug House”, and the indicators of thieving about to take place.

In the past year, on four different occasions, myself and my neighbors witnessed people walking beside our vehicles with their cell phone held out in front of them, video recording what was inside our vehicles, so that they could review it later to determine whether the vehicle doors were locked, was there a car alarm, and what was worth stealing.  One time this summer, the Police did catch and arrest one of these people about one hour after he was seen videoing our vehicles.  He was arrested in our neighborhood following a domestic dispute, for fleeing, eluding, resisting arrest, and other charges.

The last three times that myself and my neighbors witnessed someone walking beside our vehicles while video recording, we followed them and watched them from a distance, trying to find out where they were going or where they lived.  When we were spotted by these people while following them, these people did not show up on our city block again.

In the past, I have had some difficulty when I called the Dickinson Police dispatch, because what I was reporting to the dispatcher did not appear to be a crime to them, such as someone video recording what is inside of our vehicles, or someone who does not live in our apartment building walking around the parking lot.  Now, I often hesitate to call the Police, because it mostly does not turn out well, the dispatcher does not understand what I am trying to tell them, why I am calling them, or what I want.

What I want, and why I am calling, is for the Police to come right now and hopefully catch these people in the act of doing what they are doing.  Even if they don’t have any stolen property on their person at the moment, the Police can at least get their I.D., learn who they are, and get a look at them so that they can recognize them in the future.  If anything, this would at least be a deterrent to these people stealing in this neighborhood.

Yesterday at 3:00 p.m. I went outside of my apartment building to my vehicle.  I needed to move some tools from one vehicle to another.  At that time, I noticed a person wearing black pants, black jacket, and a black hoodie pulled up over their head.  They had a bright orange scarf covering their face, and they were wearing a backpack that had a bright orange bottom.

When I first noticed this person, they were on the other side of the street from me, walking in a haphazard, hesitating manner.  Because they were thin with a slight build, and they seemed to be unsure in what they were doing, I believed that this person was in their late teens.  I have seen this behavior before, where a person walking on foot really does not have somewhere that they need to be, and they do not have somewhere that they are trying to get to, and they have no legitimate purpose for being in the area, they appear to be lost, uncertain where they are going, stopping, starting, looking around, hesitating, changing directions.

I stopped attempting to move any tools out of my vehicle, because this person was acting suspicious, and I didn’t want them to see that I had any property in my vehicle, or what I had.  They crossed over to my side of the street, stopped, and looked at my apartment building entrance doors, and acted like they were going to try to enter onto the property.  They began moving like they were going onto the property, then stopped, then changed direction to continue heading south on the sidewalk.  Maybe they saw that there was a security system company sign on the apartment building door, or that there was a magnetic scanner and a magnetic lock on the door.

This seemed strange to me, for a person to briefly act like they intended to enter an apartment building after walking there, as if this was their destination, but then turn away and continue walking on, like this was not their destination.

The very next house that this person came to, was a large two-story house on a double lot that had a for “For Rent” sign out in front of it, that was currently vacant.  This person stopped at the driveway, looked at the house, then stepped into the driveway a few steps, then came out and kept walking south on the sidewalk in a hesitating, halting, no destination, no business being in this neighborhood kind of way.

The next house that this person came to, it had a “For Rent” sign in front of it, and it was currently vacant.  He stopped, waited, looked around, and then he walked up the driveway to this house.  At this point I didn’t know if this person was looking for a vacant house to break into in order to have a place to stay, or looking for whatever he could steal from a house where there was no one home.

Readers from other parts of the country, or women, would probably like to interject that maybe this young man was looking for a house to rent.  Dickinson is a town in the oil field of North Dakota.  One bedroom apartments typically rent for $700 to $1,000 per month.  There aren’t any teenagers renting 4BR/3BA houses in Dickinson.

I called the Police dispatcher, and I said that I wanted to report a suspicious acting person.  I described what this person was doing, and I gave a description of the person.  As I was explaining all of this to the Police dispatcher, this person exited the vacant rental house driveway, and began walking north, back toward the apartment building where I live.

I tried to watch and keep sight of this individual while I waited for the Police to show up.  I saw that this person had now removed their bright orange scarf that was covering their face, and that they had now put their jacket on over top of the backpack that they were wearing.  This person walked past the apartment building where I live, he turned the corner at the next cross street, and he continued walking west.

At the middle of this city block, there is a small employer-owned apartment building where only employees of this company live.  This building is more like individually owned condominium units, because nothing is for rent, and only residents have access keys to enter this building.  This building property and its small parking lot are dead-end, the building property abuts the yards and fences of the neighboring single-family homes.  This is where the suspicious acting person turned into, and he walked through this and other people’s private property.

He cut through this apartment building dead-end private property, and about five minutes later, I saw that he was now back near the vacant rental house adjacent to the apartment building where I live.  He continued walking east.

When the Police Officer arrived, about ten minutes after I had called the Police dispatch, the last time I had seen the suspicious acting person was about two minutes ago.  I told the Police Officer what direction and street the person was walking on.  The Police Officer drove around the neighborhood, but wasn’t finding him.  I got in my vehicle and I drove around looking for him too, but I didn’t see him anywhere either.

I was upset and frustrated.  If you lived in downtown Dickinson, and you had your vehicle stolen like I did, had $2,500 worth of tools and equipment stolen like I did, had your mountain bike stolen, had multiple attempted thefts of property like I did, your neighbors had their houses and vehicles broken into, and you kept seeing people walking by your vehicles video recording what was in them so that they could come back and steal it later, you wouldn’t like people who didn’t live on your city block and had no business being on your block, loitering around for no apparent reason other than to break into a house and steal.

Today, when I had the chance, I called my neighbor Matt to tell him that he needed to quit leaving his doors unlocked because I had seen a suspicious acting person wandering around the neighborhood yesterday.  Matt said, “You know, it’s funny you should say that.  Yesterday evening I thought that I heard noises coming from one of the vacant houses next door, like someone had gotten into one of them.  I swore it sounded like someone was in there.”

Another Indicator That St. Alexius Hospital In Dickinson Is Incompetent

On Thursday January 9th at approximately 3:45 p.m. I was driving south on Hwy 22 on the south side of Dickinson.  At SE 8th Street, beside the Loaf N’ Jug store, a new white color Chevy pickup truck towing a utility trailer, entered Hwy 22 from the east, and proceeded south on Hwy 22.

The enclosed utility trailer that was being towed was approximately 7’W x 7’H x 14′ L.  This enclosed utility trailer had an “advertising wrap”, it was completely covered in advertising for CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Dickinson.

The Chevy pickup truck towing the St. Alexius Hospital utility trailer traveled at the 65 mph speed limit for eight to ten miles south out of Dickinson, past the Dickinson Airport, and into the sparsely populated rural farming area.

I was following the St. Alexius Hospital utility trailer at a distance of at least 300 ft.  I was not in a hurry at all, I had plenty of time to get where I was going.  The highway was clear of snow, but there was probably some frost on the highway, because the skies were overcast and it was about 20 degrees F outside.

About four miles south of the Dickinson Airport, I noticed that the St. Alexius Hospital utility trailer had slowed down, because my following distance had decreased to about 250 ft.  Within a fraction of a second, when I was at a distance of maybe 225 ft., I realized that the utility trailer had come to a complete stop in the middle of the road!

I began braking my vehicle as hard as I could without going into a skid, when I was about 200 ft. from the stopped utility trailer, I was still going 60 mph.  I had no expectation or warning that the utility trailer would come to a complete stop in the middle of the highway, in the middle of nowhere, for no reason!

I believed that there was no way I was going to be able to stop in time to not hit the back of the St. Alexius Hospital utility trailer, I would have to go around it on the left side or the right side, but was the white Chevy pickup truck tow vehicle about to turn to the left or to the right?

I made my decision to go off the highway to the right side, to try to avoid the rear-end collision, and I began steering my vehicle in that direction.  When I began going onto the right highway shoulder, I could then see that the while color new Chevy pickup truck tow vehicle had its brake lights lit up bright, at their brightest intensity, the brake light intensity for a complete stop with the driver’s foot hard on the brake!

Those God Damn, mother fucking, stupid, incompetent Catholics couldn’t be bothered to hook up the utility trailer light plug to the Chevy tow vehicle!  Every new truck that has a tow hitch, comes with a plug installed at the rear bumper, where the trailer light plug gets plugged in.  It is not a courtesy, it is required by law that all trailers have operating running lights, brake lights, and turn signal lights.

I knew instantly that I had no warning that the St. Alexius Hospital utility trailer was slowing down and had come to a complete stop, because it had no brake lights, because the Catholics had not plugged the trailer light cable into the Chevy pickup truck plug.

To make things even worse, as I was braking and steering my vehicle towards the right shoulder in order to slide past the utility trailer on the right side, the Chevy pickup truck tow vehicle began making a right turn!

This was at the turn-off for the Dickinson Southwest Speedway race track, at 47th Street SW.  I could see that there was a small side-by-side UTV on 47th Street SW that appeared to have been waiting for this white Chevy truck and utility trailer.  What appeared to have happened, was that the driver of the Chevy pickup truck tow vehicle had not known the exact location of the turn-off, that is why the driver came to a complete stop in the middle of the highway, they didn’t know where the turn-off was, and they probably almost drove past it.

My vehicle speed was down to about 30 mph when the St. Alexius Hospital idiot made the right hand turn onto 47th Street SW.  I slowed down even more, and I considered for about a minute, turning onto 47th Street SW and pulling the Chevy pickup truck driver over, whatever it took to get the driver to stop, and angrily confronting them about the vehicle accident that they almost caused by not having their utility trailer lights hooked up.

I drove on, and I considered calling someone at the St. Alexius Hospital the following day to explain to them the vehicle accident that they almost caused, and that they are required by law to have operating brake lights and turn signals on their utility trailer.

The problem is that the Catholics in Dickinson who work at the St. Alexius Hospital, they excuse themselves in every failure and every stupid thing that they do, and say that it is “God’s will”.   Not hooking up their utility trailer lights, “It’s in God’s Hands”, they are not responsible, or accountable, and they have no intention of changing.

The Surprise That Socialism And Communism Has Waiting For Women, Blacks, And Hispanics

In the past month I have come to realize that the majority of the population in every state, now live in the cities.  In the year 2016 Presidential Election, in many states there was a battle between the conservative voters who lived in rural areas versus the liberal voters who lived in the cities.  Here is the year 2016 Presidential Election map that depicts votes by county in each state:

Using Florida as an example, there was a very close race for President, that eventually had about a 2% majority Republican vote.  However, if you look at the Presidential Election map, only a very small portion of the land area in Florida shows Democrat voters.  These land areas in Florida that showed Democrat voters, these were the large cities.

Colorado is a more telling example of what is happening.  If you look at the Presidential Election map, the majority of the land area in Colorado had Republican voters.  But the election results showed that there was a 4.8% majority Democrat vote.  It was the case in Colorado that the number of Democrat voters living in the cities, outnumbered the Republican voters living in the rural areas.

Since the 2016 Presidential Election, the trend has continued in every state, where the number of people living in the cities that tend to vote Democrat/Liberal has continued to grow, outnumbering the people living in the rural areas that tend to vote Republican/Conservative.

Though Donald Trump may be re-elected as President in 2020, after that, due to the number of people living in cities continuing to grow, the Presidential and Congressional elections will be Democrat/Liberal victories.

The appeal of the Democrat/Liberal party platform to voters in the cities, is their offer to correct or remedy every kind of perceived unfairness or injustice with a policy, program, or law.  In their minds, since everyone faces unfairness, they offer free housing, subsidized housing, free food, free EBT food card, free phone, free medical care, free medicine, free job training, job placement, unemployment compensation, don’t feel like working compensation, free daycare, subsidized daycare, free drug rehab, free vagrancy assistance.

In order to remedy something like the perceived historical injustice to Hispanics, the Democrats/Liberals created sanctuary cities where they prohibit law enforcement from checking immigration status, reporting, or enforcing U.S. immigration law.  They also try to block or impede the deportation of repeat criminal offender illegal aliens.

For Blacks and Women, the Democrats/Liberals have implemented laws and programs requiring hiring quotas, promotion quotas, lowering of entrance exam requirements, lowering of promotion exam requirements, disregard for job failures and misconduct that would normally require dismissal, grievance procedures that give them much more rights and privileges than coworkers.

Beginning in 2024, there will probably be a Democrat President, a Democrat majority in the House of Representatives, and a Democrat majority in the Senate.  The Democrat policies will be Socialist/Communist.

The majority of people, the city dwellers who voted for this, they will rejoice in this victory, which should finally lead to equality and fairness for everyone.  But within a short time, maybe within a year or two, it should be evident that instead of equality and fairness, there is now a totalitarian government.

The Democrats/Liberals needed the Women, Blacks, Hispanics, and LGBT to achieve a majority in national elections.  Together they became the majority, and they defeated the traditional conservatives who believed in the Constitution, the Bible, the right to own firearms, the right to home school, the right to do what they wanted on their own land.

Once the Democrats/Liberals have the Presidency and the Congress, they can begin disregarding the U.S. Constitution by different means, such as Presidential Executive Orders, policy decisions by U.S. departments and agencies, and by legal decisions in courts.  The Democrats/Liberals will not have to follow the law, or fear consequences from not following the law, they will be able to do what they want.

In the time when the Democrats/Liberals have practically complete control of government, and they begin implementing Socialist/Communist programs, such as free health care, government control of energy resources, government control of food production, government determination of housing needs and allotment of housing, removal of people from their businesses and their land, do you think that they are going to have any patience or tolerance for incompetence, stupidity, ineptness, and inability in carrying out their plans?

Everyone needs to remember the Communist motto of Karl Marx, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs”.  What all of the city dwellers, Women, Blacks, and Hispanics either forgot, or didn’t know, is that Communism is a regime where without favor or weakness, the most intelligent and mentally able are selected to be the leaders, doctors, scientists, and engineers.  That’s not completely correct, in Communist regimes, Women and Minorities are probably discriminated against and must show extreme intelligence in order to be selected.

Next, in Communist regimes, selection is made for skilled trades, mechanics, electricians, plumbers, equipment operators, welders, and selection is based on intelligence, aptitude, and suitability.  Again, Women and Minorities are probably discriminated against and must show higher intelligence and aptitude in order to be selected.

Next, unskilled labor, manual labor, domestic labor is selected.  In Communist regimes, Women and Minorities are probably given preference for manual labor and domestic labor.

If you look at any Communist country, the U.S.S.R., China, Cuba, Venezuela, there aren’t any LGBT people, Minorities, or hardly any Women in any leadership position.  If you look at the countries with the longest history of a Communist government, such as the U.S.S.R. and China, they have hardly ever had Women or Minorities in high-level, mid-level, or low-level government leadership positions.

Women, Blacks, and Hispanics, look at what you have done, and it’s too late to stop it.  The new U.S. government will be 95% White Men, and you Women, Blacks, and Hispanics will be assigned to domestic and manual labor.  If you don’t believe me, look at other Communists countries.
